Well, she did get some comeuppance in some episodes, and if her terrible relationship with her Mother is any indication, Tiara probably got chewed out by her Mother for failing a competition, losing the school newspaper, and such. So it really does put her in a new light.
I find it odd some still hate her, or want a worse fate for her, especially those whom easily forgave worse characters, or are upset worse antagonists didn’t get reformed instead. I think Tiara earned her reformation, and that part where she told her Mother off with, “These are MY friends” was an excellent moment.
Plus, she wasn’t always evil, in “Family Appreciation Day,” she genuinely seemed to respect/love her Father, even though other kids found him boring, and were rudely ignoring him, or falling asleep. (Including the CMC.) So maybe she was upset/jealous that the kids liked “Some kooky old lady” better. So oddly, I sometimes already did feel sorry for her.
At best they only were terrible due to…well, who influences them:
Tiara was a bully because her mother influenced her on that and Spoon was like that because of Tiara.
I know some people (especially in brony reviewers) loved to jerk off about the idea that Tiara “didn’t get punished enough” but geez guys, they both learned completely. Although I do wish this was explored more in the show but alas.
I disagree, Spoon was just as mean as her, (people whom demonize Tiara for “OMG picking on cripple Scootaloo!” forget Spoon gladly did that too, without any push to do so from Tiara) and deep down, both aren’t terrible, and “Raiders of the Lost Mark” proves that.
I might look for them once I finish the fic I’m writing.
There are also actually several other “Christmas Carol/Scrooge”-like stories done with her surprisingly.
Thanks for the link.
Here you go. Linky.
Link please.
I don’t know, Quenten Tarantino’s cameo in the “Oz” one was hilarious.
@Scrounge
I think there was a “Christmas Carol”-like fanfic where Tiara was being visited by 3 ghosts who resembled the CMC.
I saw that on Netflix a few days ago. Best Muppet-based adaptation of a timeless classic, if you ask me. (much better than Muppets Wizard of Oz…yeesh)
She goes to extremes to convince us she’s bad
She’s really a victim of fear and of pride
Look close and there must be a sweet girl inside…
…Nah.
There goes Little Heartless
There goes Little Cruel
She never helps, she only hurts
She lets her contempt rule
If being mean’s a way of life you practice and rehearse
Then all that work is paying off, ‘cause Diamond’s getting worse
Every day
In every way
Diamond’s getting worse!
Sorry, Muppet Christmas Carol was on in the other room earlier in the day, and Diamond Tiara seems like she’d make a good Scrooge.
Good.
’k.
No.
Are you trying to bait me into asking? :P
And they’re one reason I never married.
That, and another reason.
…Compared to other children in the show, okay? Real-world children, there’s a reason I avoid them.
Moving on.
And neither have changed much, albeit for differing reasons.
So, what’s the point?
Well, that’s why I adore Trixie and Discord. They saw the error of their ways.
Why?
No, I’d rather they were redeemed.
Thank god for that. The show would not have any good villians without her. That is unless you count Comic Chrysalis.
