Also, I think there MIGHT have been a background human that slightly resembled Megan in either one of the movies or one of the comic specials. That, or one of the comic specials just had a cute background joke with her name plastered on something.

I tend to agree with this in most cases (the no humans in Equestrian bit; I rather liked Rainbow Rocks), I make an exception for Meghan. She’s got the Grandfather Clause on her side.

Yeah, that’s pretty much it. Megan was fine for G1, but that’s where she belongs forever; Humans are absolutely 100% unnecessary and out of place in Equestria, and their presence would just completely break the universe at the user end. Humans are the automatic default Audience Surrogate in any cartoon fantasy world where they appear, and that just $#!+$ all over the heart of the show, which is Ponies who are so well characterized and inhabit a world so rich and so real that anyone watching can see themselves and their friends in them; add a Human and that’s it, it’s all over, the Ponies– all of them, all at once– are reduced to nothing more than talking animal sidekicks who only exist to bounce off of the Human’s story.
 
The closer we get to Season 5 the more worried I am that this image is going to be the next this image, and that my concerns about the S5 Premiere will actually come true.
