The reason different people see the dress differently, is because of how the brain interprets sensory input and filters out unneeded data. The photo has horrible white balancing that happens to hit a sweet spot that can confuse the brains of many people (Me included) into interpreting it as white and gold. Which you see it as depends on which color your brain decides is the ambient light color and filters that out. This mechanism is why turning on a light doesn’t cause the room to become blindingly white (at least after your eyes adjust for light levels)
I immediately saw it as black and blue and couldn’t understand why other people see it as white and gold. Then I learned I was right. Then while scrolling suddenly I saw it as white and gold and before my eyes it turned black and blue again.
Ok about the dress thing, and I hate to bring it up again
But I figured out the solution
The image’s color balance was screwed up, and in the image the dress appears white/gold
Even in that first image it doesn’t appear to be white/gold at all. Seriously, this is freakin’ stupid as a social experiment, stop referencing it. Or do you guys get your jollies off on gaslighting people?
So that’s where that stupid meme came from. I heard it from one of my coworkers at Taco Bell and all I could think was ‘What the hell are you on about?’

The image’s color balance was screwed up, and in the image the dress appears white/gold
But the actual dress was found on Amazon, and it’s black/blue
So in conclusion: the dress IS in fact black/blue, but the image’s color balance makes it look white/gold
Both sides are technically correct here, so don’t you dare try to argue anymore
More like Grey & Brown.
There’s a few arguments destroyed. Good.
Now i can see the gold-ish, but i still cant see white…. also that pic hurts me eyes.
Two dresses? Are you talking about this gif? Because everyone is talking about this pic: http://assets.nydailynews.com/polopoly_fs/1.2131117!/img/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/article_970/article-dress-0226.jpg

Well it doesn’t look black I’ll say that much
[bq=”EHAN”]BEFORE ANYONE ARGUES ABOUT THIS
Same. Only the issue about Net Neutrality followed suit, and I had to browse left and right to get a clear grasp on the matter.
Literally the first conversation I heard this morning was about the damn dress
However, by the next period it was all “Leonard Nimoy”
So that’s where that stupid meme came from. I heard it from one of my coworkers at Taco Bell and all I could think was ‘What the hell are you on about?’
