Yes, I’m sure that I liked that story. I know that I’m “supposed to” foam with rage over Reflections like everyone else because that’s the popular opinion that the internet starts screaming at you if you don’t agree with, but I genuinely love that story and it’s portrayal of Celestia.
 
Celestia in the show is boring. Let’s face it. She’s all-powerful, all-knowing, always kind and smart and wise and strong and she is never, ever wrong. Show Celestia is practically perfect in every way and hasn’t had a single iota of character development in 4 entire seasons.
 
Cook’s depiction of Celestia, and in Reflections in particular, feels more like a real character than the show version ever has. She shows she has real emotions and needs and desires. She shows she’s not infallible, and that she’s capable of making big, selfish decisions like anyone else could. And it also shows that she does harbor the regret that accompanies those decisions. It’s masterfully done, and leaps and bounds more interesting than her perfectly flat TV counterpart.

Are you sure reflections was great? There was a picture a little while ago that had drama about that arc and how it “Ruined Celestia”…

Glad to see the finished comic. I was looking for a project and saw the sketch. Loved the emotion from https://derpibooru.org/814480 and thought I’d give it my interpretation. I do my best to not steal and give credit to the other artist before me. I actually cannot draw, I only do vector drawing over other work. If the original artist hates this, I’ll have it taken down
