While I’m not sure if that’s how Alicorn Magic transfer “works” I agree it would have the perfect time to not only bring back old Luna but perhaps introduce Celestias lower form. I would assume Cadence has not yet truly ascended to her divine form yet so no real change for her.
It kinda is apparent when you go from flowing energy mane to as frozen as a plastic wig.
And I did, so maybe it evens out.

The flash models. Instead of giving them like flat or shorter demagiced hair, they just froze their manes in place and removed the sparkles. Which looks more like you just dumped their hair in starch or something.
