Except this whole thing is not about a problem in communication but rather a battle of egos. An Anon made a comment and you jumped on him calling him a troll and to shut up. And said anon kept replying to you, then you to him, and thus creating this meaningless cycle.

I’m genuinely trying to understand what he said. I think he’s mad at me because I initially failed to register that he used quotation marks to indicate a parenthetical phrase. As opposed to say, parentheses.

Is that so? In that case, why don’t you rephrase your sentence, like I initially suggested, to remove the confusion on this subject altogether? A failure to properly articulate yourself is not your reader’s fault. Or are you just having fun at my expense because I made the mistake of wanting to understand what you said, and therefore trolling?

Of course it is. If you eliminate the quotation marks, you haven’t made the sentence any clearer, you have completely modified the sentence (with repeated words even). Ergo, it is safe to presume your English is poor because your clarification has little to do with the meaning of the sentence you are trying to correct (which you did in a grammatically incorrect manner, it bears repeating). Had you replaced any other component, I might have consider a clarification, buy you clearly have no idea what you are doing, and since beginning you have been showing you are also unable to read, context or otherwise.

I did mention adding additional words that you failed to notice the absence of that improve the sentence’s clarity. Then I rephrased your concept so it required fewer words. Are you sure the problem is my failure to understand?

My grasp of English has been post-collegiate since second grade. Since you can’t even see what’s wrong with your sentence, I’ll try rewriting it properly myself and see (by you telling me, of course) if it looks closer to what you intended to say than what you said.

At which point your argument, more concisely written, would mean that you believe I’m calling you a troll for saying that my calling you a troll is stupid. More accurately, I believed you were a troll to start with, or somebody who strangely felt the overpowering urge to post on this thread, anonymously, about how using an alternate tag for this picture than the one you preferred were somehow lesser people.
 
The exact manner of your responses (calling me “nigga” and perfect practice for “newbs” and “idiots, and something about not recognizing trolling being trolling), not their actual message, was what reinforced my initial notion that you might be a troll.
 
That’s ok though. I have come to the conclusion you’re not a troll, because you are clearly not enjoying the direction this conversation has taken. The verdict is still out on your intelligence though.

No, it’s perfectly self-contained and has all the words necessary to express what it is trying to say. The inability to read it just brings questions about your grasp of English.

It’s really not. I know you’re missing at least one word and I suspect at least a few others are out of place. It is right at the edge of legible.
