That is true I suppose, I like Pinkie quite a bit and i’ll admit, she probably has more moments of bad writing than anyone (though she also has FANTASTIC focus episodes pretty consistently) and Hell, Id say Fluttershy’s episodes usually aren’t badly written, she herself is just kinda bland.
Best is not always favorite, and favorite is not always best. I genuinely think Rarity is the deepest, most well written and acted character, next to Spike, honestly. Sadly Spike has as many badly written moments as good ones, so it doesn’t stay up as high.
It’s True, Fluttershy is just about the most tropey character in the show, her episodes while she actually has a better quality track record than Rainbow Dash or Applejack are all ether samey or super gimmicky (the later was especially true last season where almost every major Fluttershy appearance included a new gimmick). She’s probably the least dynamic character in the last
Rarity is a subversion of so many usual fashionista tropes, she’s driven, one of the more mature members of the cast usually, probably the most self-aware of her flaws and willing to lampshade them. And she has the most consistent record of quality episodes, yet she gets so much less apprciation because people can’t “relate” to her or just go in biased against her because she’s the “fashion character” or some nonsense.

Rarity is just such a well written character with a well-rounded personality and multiple dimensions. Fluttershy is…shy? I mean, how many episodes has she overcome her shyness only for her to be crippingly shy by the next episode?
Maybe people just don’t like complexity :P
