I understand what you have to say but i still think that ,there is something about entertainment that we forgot somewhere along our obsession with analysis and tropes studies in this Internet age and it’s escapism.Your comment is sadenning (for me at least) as it is a reflection of the current mindset of viewer ,akin to the character of Mike Teavee, with this stubborn refusal to sit back and just let go ,enjoying 25 minutes of escapism.One of the anon replied to you with the stupid maymay of “tipping fedora man” to ,i guess, ,criticize you about you perceived obsession with analysis,if i was this guy on the other hand,i’d rather have quoted Charlie Chaplin which is,in my opinion rather accurate when it come to describing humanity“Our knowledge has made us cynical.Our cleverness hard and unkind.We think too much and feel too little” You’re totally entitled to your opinion if you didnt liked Slice Of Life,but i still think that,regardless of all the analysis you can provide,you missed the key element that this episode was about celebration above everything else

Your right, not to be critiqued was a bad choice of words. I know fim is critiqued and needs to be critiqued and what not. But this really doesn’t seem like the episode that people really need to dig into.

I completely agree with you, there was no direction, shit was everywhere, and you could completely skip this episode and never be lost story wise. But this episode is a celebration, a “We made it to 100 episodes”, “cheers”, “High-fives”, kind of deal. I personally just think that this episode doesn’t need it’s asshole ripped out for not being on par with the others.

FIM is not perfect. It is not some kind of shining beacon of masterful perfection. If you want to just sit there and watch the pretty colored ponies prance around and then proclaim “BEST EPISODE EVER” every single week, more power to you. But I like to actually THINK about the show and critique it.
 
If you say that I have to stop thinking so hard about the episode in order to enjoy it, that’s very indicative of the writing quality. (hint: that means the writing quality is very bad)

I don’t actually critique the 100th episode. It was sure one of my favorites (besides Hurricane Fluttershy and Rainbow Falls). But when seeing those unicorns in a preview, I’m pretty sure, I got an even greater episode to watch. <3
