Don’t waste a bunch of time coloring something that’s not very good.
Until you can consistently draw a decent original pose, maybe start out with a big page of gestures/poses?
maybe choose the best one out of the batch to practice lines/coloring/whatever on, or maybe not, whatever
running terrible drawings through illustrator one by one is a really expensive way of iterating through those terrible drawings
if you want to get good at base drawings fast, you need to iterate faster than that, figure out what works and what doesn’t en masse – I’m thinking on the order of two minutes a pose (if that’s too fast then maybe five or ten)
I’ve probably sketched ten things to every thing I’ve painted.
And before that I started out drawing from life and copying photos to graphite and that’s how I got my foundational can-draw-anything-I-see skills, before gesture drawings, before original poses from imagination, before paintings, and a helluva long time before porn*.
*not to say ‘draw porn on the internet’ is any kind of paragon to strive for; a lot of people who work in the art industry see it as substantially easier to do “good enough” than what they do, and also lower status
