Semi-Official Game Server Thread

 
We all like games, so in this thread we will discuss gameservers run by derpibooru people for derpibooru people, and we can all game together in harmony. If you’re running or thinking about running some sort of gameserver for the community, post here to tell us about it! I’ll endeavour to keep this first post updated with all the servers I know about, but I will probably only know about it if you post in this thread.

The TF2 server has only been up like a day and hasn’t seen much use yet, but if interest develops I can see about putting on popular custom maps and possibly some decent mods people think it should have. It seems to run smoothly but hasn’t been tested with a large number of players (I think the most that have been on is maybe 5 or 6), although the load so far indicates it should be able to cope fine.
 
I’m also capable of running a Space Station 13 server if any of you fine folk are familiar with that terrible, terrible gem of a game. My branch of choice is the latest available revision of /tg/station, and I’d be happy to put a server up if we can rustle up enough interested players to make it worthwhile.
 
I know parp has been talking about setting up a minecraft server as well but I don’t know how that’s going.

I love minecraft. Personally I’ve been playing FTB and tekkit for ages, cause I love what you can do with it.

I sort-of have experience-by-proxy with minecraft server administration but don’t have access to a server capable of running an instance - MC needs way more memory than my VPS has available. Otherwise I’d love to run one. It’s good fun. I hope parp or someone else comes along to set something up.

I wish I still had that MC address for the first DB Server.

I think one of the reasons there hasn’t been much activity in the TF2 server, is because the word hasn’t been much spread yet (also, there we’re just a dozen or half a dozen people interested in the first place), we could either schedule something or just tell the people interested who frequent in the chatrooms (IRC) and forums, making this topic a “sticky” is a good choice too.
 
I for one would go play on the server every now and then when I have time.

I’d try out the TF2 server, but I’ve got things to do and people to see. So I won’t be able to check it out until later today/tomorrow.

Eh, like I’ve said before, I couldn’t play TF2, ever.
 
 
But I could play Minecraft, so…

I’m pleased to be able to report that I can kick Vlakc’s arse at TF2. TSP’s is trickier, but still kickable.

You should put ctf_2fort_upsidedown. Basically an upside down 2fort.  
It’s really fun if there are alot of people there.
 
Pros: you can walk on the sky, so don’t worry about it being easy to die.  
Cons: It’s hard to get to certain rooms, like say, the room adjacent to the intel room (the base), you would need a Force-a-Nature Scout, Demoman, or Soldier.

Me TSP and Carcer played TF2 for a good while not long ago, TSP could kick our asses easily, and I’d say Carcer and I are almost the same level (with Carcer ahead of me)

I left the server because of my SHITTY FUCKING COMPUTER, I’m coming back.

Is somebody going to set up an official Derpibooru Steam group?

I don’t know about the steam group, but you can join the server already if you want to. If you have any questions about accessing it, you can ask the people around here, preferably Carcer.

While I’m at it, does anyone know any good ways to destroy a computer? That’s what I’m wanting to do.
