Humans are from the great ape family, hunter gathers, but not as good at hunting opposed to gathering.
Apex, but not really a predator. Actual predator animals are built much different.
Most of our fighting ability is build around dueling eachother, often non fatal duels over dominance. Not always non fatal.
We’re mediocre hunters without foraging, agriculture and livestock.
Carnivorous pursuits started gradually, stealing bird eggs was a likely start. Primates had teeth and even weapons, but hunting didn’t become super viable until fire, the teeth where more likely for fighting.
We can see many otherwise would be herbivores consuming animal matter randomly, but without fire or massive livers it’s dangerous to do it often.
