Yeah Nickelodeon did finish the series unlike some cartoons. I’m looking at your Teen Titans.

Over The Garden Wall is a miniseries and was treated pretty well during release…  
That said, it’s also a Halloween special and as of this year, they’ve only played it once.

For what it’s worth by some fluke of nature or a miracle, CN has been airing the original series regularly.  
They have something in mind, but I no clue what.

The whole Season six deal is murky depending on the sources, and there’s no definite answer as to what happened. Honestly, I felt the show had a great run with 66 episodes and a TV movie. Looking back, The team defeating the Brotherhood of Evil along with a Majority of villains sans Slade felt like a series finale and I’m not really pinning for a sixth season just to deal with Terra or a Starfire arc. I’d rather get a new series with a slightly different incarnation of the team. I feel it’s about time for that.

It just ended on a cliffhanger with “Things Change.” Like, what the hell was up with that?
 
Well, that and Trouble in Tokyo, but they never resolved what happened in the season five finale, so maybe it’s non-canon now?

“Titans Together” felt more like an actual finale.

Honestly, “The End” feels more like a finale than all of that.

Yeah. I don’t know what they were thinking. Not to say that “Things Change” shouldn’t have been an episode, but why a final episode?

I think “The End” originally WAS going to be the series finale but then it got renewed for one more season.
 
What REALLY never made sense was the origins episode of the show being in the final season AND having tons of contradictions with everything that had happened in the series.

I read something once about how “Things Change” seemed like it meant to be earlier, meant to be part of another season if they got it, or something like that, so was never meant to be a season final and might not of meant to seem like a cliffhanger for one reason or another.

It does feel like it was hastily rewritten…

But the absolute worst thing about what happened to the ‘03 Teen Titans cartoon is never following up on the end of the episode “Haunted.” Just WHO triggered that hallucinogen in Slade’s mask?
 
I can deal with never finding out who Red X is though. It’s obvious that his identity was always meant to remain a mystery.
 
I still think he’s Jason Todd.

And there was also the “Teen Titans Go” comic (no relation to the current cartoon) that told more stories set in the 2003 cartoon continuity. Including bringing in some characters that the cartoon never had, like Terra’s brother.

Always found it weird why the Val-Yor character looked so much like Captain Atom. Was he originally supposed to BE Captain Atom or something?
