I also kinda like the nostalgia of the F40s, which some can be seen still in service. Multiple ones have become cabbage cars or non-powered control units on Amtrak’s Cascades line

These were made in use for the Milwaukee District North Line and West Line, but they came out when six axle Passenger Locomotives are at a declined, and Metra would end up buying a lot of F40PHs. There are a couple F40Cs that still existed, but they’re likely used for Spare Parts.
Of course Metra would not buy any Six Axle Locomotive until 2022.
