honestly? Not much from a practical standpoint. It is more a formal thing that he would be impeached twice. The senate won’t be able to remove him from office before he would be leaving anyway.

People crying about “free speech” online can just go post on 4chan, 8chan, or some random forum. There, free speech, barely any (or no) moderation at all, go nuts.
 
But that’s not what they want. They think they’re entitled to a free site with all the features and popularity and visibility of Facebook or Twitter or whatever else.
 
If you actually care about those big platforms being too powerful, work towards breaking the “monopolies” (that exist on multiple levels) rather than getting the government to tell private people and companies what to do with their business.
 
Or hell, lobby for the government to develop a public option, a site owned by the government following only the law where people have to use their real ID to post, just like a public square.

Monopoly, schmonopoly, you guys are assuming the internet is the only way people can communicate. Shows your age. Does the internet in general have a monopoly on speech? Once upon a time, there was no such thing as the internets. “But uncle Methid! How did people talk to each other from long distances?” They used telephones and fax machines and what is now called snail mail; you know, writing and sending letters through the post office. Sure it wasn’t as convenient, but it worked fine for us. Also, people still came together physically and formed clubs. Sure it was more local and not across the globe but it had its pros as much as its cons.
 
Even without anti-trust legislation to break up monopolies on the internet, that still wouldn’t stop people from meeting and organizing, with or without the internet. Banning Parler and Gab isn’t really gonna stop right-winged people and it won’t even stop the alt-right. Hell, even when the internet came about, there was no Facebook or Twitter or Instagram, hell social media wasn’t even in anyone’s vocabulary until the mid-00’s. There’s still e-mail and forums and a whole lot of other ways to meet without social media sites.
 
Social media sites don’t have a monopoly on internet communication like you think it does; it just happens to be the most popular way to communicate online.

Impeachment also prevents him from holding office again, forgetting any of the post-presidential benefits. We have to show that there are consequences to his actions so that others don’t try to repeat it.

Nobody sees these forms of communication. Social media is where it is at now, especially for average people. And it is not a free market online nor do normal rights apply. (And son, I was here when there was no internet at all :P)

What is your stance on opposing moderation actions outside legal principles? I don’t think a lot of these actions are illegal or violate the first amendment at all but I don’t like them in the slightest.
