You took the words right out of my mouth when I saw the thumbnail for that episode. He must be that desperate for revenue that he has resorted to jumping on a recent movie’s buzz.
Also, I bet regardless of how hard PhantomStrider tried to educate Doug about Spongebob for that episode, his lack of Spongebob knowledge was still cringe.

He says hillenburg ended his run with the movie despite he came back years later.
I don’t know if that’s a reference to the theory that the movie takes place at the end or he did no research.
I do find it Really odd how in his review of the South Park and simpsons movie He said if they do other movies Doug says they should be at the end of the show or long after.
But make no reference to their being other spongebob movies

Personally I would rather not contribute to Doug’s channel anymore, so I’ll only watch his videos if someone else watches it, that or if they upload the review’s transcript on his wiki page (at least then I don’t have to listen to Doug’s obnoxious voice).

I bet it was, I mean for someone who seems to enjoy kids shows with adult humor snuck in (Like Animaniacs and Tiny Toons) you’d think SpongeBob would be right up his alley. Ah well he did talk about Nasty Patty and I Was a Teenage Gary in his Dark Toons segment at least.

Probably because he saw Spongebob as annoying overrated kids trash like most disgruntled 80s & 90s kids by the time the show came on. He did say he was in college during the late 90s so I assume he stopped watching cartoons because he believed the peer pressure of cartoons (aside from a certain few) not being socially acceptable for people his age. But that’s just a guess of mine.
Everybody asked him to review the 2007 TMNT movie because they thought he was a diehard Ninja Turtles fan but in reality, his interest was only limited to the 80s cartoon. Then in the next episode during the Mako incident, he revealed that he never watched Samurai Jack or Avatar the Last Airbender. But from what I’ve heard, that sudden defense for Mako is what got him and Rob Walker to start watching Avatar the Last Airbender in the first place.

Yeah that’s true, even if you say something is good doesn’t always guarantee they’ll actually watch it (or like it). Plus half of what Doug watches is probably only because it’s kinda his job, like binging the whole Avatar: The Last Airbender just for the M. Night Shyamalan film; he also stopped watching Disney for a while when The Emperor’s New Groove came out because he saw it as the company “giving up”.

Holy crap I actually can’t believe the Patrick Show made fun of Nostalgia Critic, and surprisingly considering the show’s reputation it was actually funny, also Bubble Bass makes a perfect representative for Doug.

Yeah I watched two episodes and it’s just Pee Wee’s Playhouse with Patrick Star which I don’t think is anything worth checking out.
I understand SpongeBob is Nickelodeon’s golden boy, but if they are gonna make spin-offs they could at least do something more creative, like how about a show based on the Adventures of MermaidMan and BarnacleBoy; the one that SpongeBob and Patrick grew up watching.

Speaking of which, I always found those crossover reviews kinda pointless because the guests don’t really add anything to the review that Doug doesn’t already do himself; his reviews of Sorcerer’s Apprentice and Batman Forever are like that, a good example of bringing in a guest is his Dragon Ball Evolution review since TFS actually know what makes the movie a failure of an adaptation.

Yeah I think that’s true, there is stuff that James Rolfe and Andre the Black Nerd that I don’t believe they would say themselves so often times they probably just read off Doug’s script.
Like I don’t know about Andre, but the fact Doug was questioning Papa Smurf being tortured by onions; any normal person would say it’s because onions irritate your eyes and make them water, Doug however thinks he hates onions because an onion killed his father.

You guys remember MisAnthro Pony (or as he currently referred to as Zaid Magenta nowadays)? That contentious irascible guy whom used to constantly bitch about Nostalgia Critic and #ChangeTheChannel (which was nothing new and still isn’t today) and wish death upon him?
Well, he bawleted his channel after getting himself into shit that not even Doug Walker himself would get into (regardless of how much of an agnsty edgelord his NC character is), and good riddance for that!
