I don’t know if that’s actually unpopular, but it’s perfectly okay. I have heard people before mentioning that the original Crash Team Racing is so good that it’s better than Mario Kart as a whole (the series).

I also love Crash Team Racing, the PS1 game (haven’t played the remake). I think it’s a very well made kart racer with some differences compared to Mario Kart. I love how the drift + boost mechanic works.

Counter Strike is ruined by e-sports.

Pokemon Nuzlockes aren’t as fun to play as they look. It’s tough to strike a good difficulty balance, because either you use items and find it too easy, or you restrict your items and get stuck in a gauntlet that’s way longer than you remember. And when you actually do lose a good Pokemon, you’ll often find your only replacements start with horribly basic attacks. It’s no fun to spend hours grinding something that only knows Scratch and a debuff, and then realize that every other available Pokemon has practically the same starting movepool. I got halfway through Diamond before I got bored, and I got to the Elite 4 in Ruby before I lost interest.

Games like Dota 2 and other repetitive arenas are not fun.
It is the same thing all over, especially owned by pros.

You can’t really fault Fallout 3 for having a black-and-white moral conflict where you’re railroaded into supporting “the good guys” because every previous Fallout game also had that (And no, joining The Master doesn’t count because it’s a ‘bad end’ that just immediately ends the game). Having a multi-polar faction war was an innovation of New Vegas, and because New Vegas was so overwhelmingly popular, every game since then has felt the need to copy it.

And by copying New Vegas, Fallout 4 recreated the same problem of having one of its factions being massively underdeveloped and cartoonishly evil because they served as the designated antagonist. So really, Vegas and 4 are still operating on a black-and-white moral framework, but people think that the addition of a morally grey third option suddenly makes it “deep.”

StarCraft is kinda overrated.

Watch Dogs was NOT that bad on release.

The Legion from New Vegas counts as being “massively underdeveloped and cartoonishly evil.” Slavery? Check. Misogyny? Check. Imperialism? Check. Darth Vader clone who’s needlessly aggressive for no reason all the time? Check. Leader is an actual narcissist who doesn’t take criticism very well and is also a massive hypocrite? Check. Bonus points for them also having fascistic qualities.

We’re supposed to believe that these guys can create a civilization that can match the glory of Rome when:

1: Rome wasn’t that great for the common man unless you liked disease, civil wars, and the leaders being dicks.

2: It’s a cult of personality that’ll collapse once Eddy dies.

3: Eddy doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about.

Much like how the Master made the mistake of not realizing his mutants were sterile, Caesar made the mistake of not properly researching theory or history for that matter.

TL;DR: The Legion needed A LOT of work

Maybe that is the depth. Its less about being “they have a point” then an exploration of how certain people can think these out of the ordinary ideals. Hes not necessarily Pein from Naruto.

Perhaps but I vaguely remember reading somewhere that the Devs wanted more time to work on the Legion to flesh them out more.

Bruh, EVERY faction in New Vegas is better than the ones in Fallout 4. Not saying the Legion sucks, I’m kinda…obsessed with them the same way a scientist is obsessed with a parasite or a disease. I clearly dislike them but can’t help but study them.

I think the Legion are fine for the game. Yes they are very Cult-Like, but I’m sure if Caesar has time, he would either name an heir or successor. One of the biggest things they promise is Safety. In the Mohave if you’re trying to go it alone, it’s much more dangerous than aligning with one of the factions.

I think they’re alright too, it’s just I vaguely remember the devs saying they would have liked more time to work on them. Maybe I’m wrong.

But I still think the Legion is the worst of the main factions. You cited safety and that MIGHT be true if you’re a male trader…but the same can’t be said for women.

I think too many fans point out the flaws of the NCR they neglect the inherent flaws of the Legion because they’re not talked about nearly enough or aren’t spelled out for the player.

Life is strange was kind of a brilliant shit show of good ideas turned into utter crap by the ending, and it should have ended the series with that utter failure of an ending.

Oh, pokemon died at the end of generation 4. Everything after that has been utter crap.

When I said “underdeveloped and cartoonishly evil,” I meant both the Legion and the Institute. Both are essentially the ‘bad guys’ of their respective games, pitted against ‘good guy’ factions that the games nudge you towards supporting.

The Institute doesn’t even have a coherent plan or ideology aside from “science good” and the desire to maintain the status quo and fend off threats to their power, making it difficult to formulate any argument for supporting them aside from “maybe the Sole Survivor has a plan.”

I think the game does a good job of showing the player the legion’s flaws by letting you visit their campsite and witnessing the treatment of the slaves and the delusions/megalomania/hypocrisy of Caesar.

That being said, I don’t think that Mr. House is much better. The best argument against him, in my opinion, is the deplorable state of Freeside, which is firmly within House’s sphere of influence yet he shirks any responsibility for it and leaves its residents to fend for themselves. In the case of Freeside, I think even Legion rule would be a slight improvement since they would clean up the drugs and the crime and ensure everybody had basic rations of food and water.
