Beat DMC4 last night.
I have mixed feelings honestly. The game’s a blast to play through, but it’s blatantly unfinished, and the final three missions drag on for an eternity.
I mean, it’s a good thing the team eventually got to expand upon these ideas and perfect the formula with 5, but still. It’s rather dissapointing that 4 kinda goes out on a whimper.

I wasn’t a fan of Trish not being playable and feel like they fumbled the “She’s Dante’s bratty little sister” feel she’s supposedly meant to have,

There are crushers in Doom Eternal.
But unlike that virgin nerd Doomguy who gets crushed by them, the chad Doom Slayer just makes them bounce off his head.

And beat Doom Eternal.
Icon of Sin? Mo’ like Icon of Din…from the sound of all those bullets I put into it!
Nailed it.

Love the modern gaming

Seamless traversal between areas is still a godtier improvement over the original. Back then, having areas interconnected through loading screens were tech limitations that we can definitely do without.
Some games have use clever workaround like masking the loading of new areas using elevator conversations in Mass Effect, or tram rides in Dead Space.

Streamlined UI experience is also godsend. Quality of life stuff. Maybe you dislike the unnecessary combat but the addition of hotkeys for healing items means that you no longer have to artificially pause the game fiddling with menus to activate frequently used items. Speaking of: game doesn’t pause when you check on your map or an item.
I have nothing against these types of changes in Remakes. Why keep the janky clunky elements in, when they were clear tech limitations of the time? Silent Hill 2 wasn’t a mechanically deep game to begin with. Having these new modern systems strapped onto them feels like a proper upgrade.
Complaints against the story, characters, artstyle, ambience, themes, and whether the content has been sanitized or dumbed down is another thing entirely. But I defo welcome the updated visuals and presentation. I love the new graphics. It shows the efforts the team’s put into the development.

Early/overseas copies of Silent Hill 2 R is out and reception has been positive so far.

Well for starters, the iconic fog was born from technical limitations.

Time to get spooky
@Dustcan
True, though they could keep the fog and improve the rougher parts.

Okay let’s see.
Eiyuden Chronicles, the spiritual successor to Suikoden, is $50. Cool.
The Digital Deluxe Edition is $80. Not cool.
The standard edition doesn’t get any sales, but the DDE does. So not cool it’s evil.
What does the DDE entail? The Season Pass and a bunch of superfluous stuff. I want the season pass but it’s $25, so getting it and the standard edition is $75. Neither goes on sale on their own, but so it’s actually cheaper to get the DDE on sale with the other junk bumping up the price than get the stuff I want without the fluff.
Literally Hitler.

Wouldn;t it be the better deal to buy the “complete/deluxe” editoon when its on sale? espically if it’s cheaper then the standard version

That’s what I’m saying.
And it bugs me, because the price on the DDE is jacked up with in-game cosmetics et al. Stuff I don’t want. If the standard edition + season pass went on sale then that would be the better option.

We’ll even if you don’t want the extra stuff aside from the season pass, the way you are describing it sounds like the DDE on sale is cheaper then buying the base game

Attempted Zekvir since I did a tier 7 delve, I was not prepared lol, I’m only ilvl 577 and the delve recommends you be 600+. I died like 5 times.

It is. What I’m complaining about is that the base game + season pass would be even cheaper if they too went on sale.
This is something becoming pretty common in the industry.

Krystal, Katt, Miyu, Fay, Lucy, and Amanda would be a cool team.
People forget how many female characters StarFox and F-Zero have.
@Angrybrony
I don’t think very many consider that game “woke” honestly… (In fact, many anti-woke people were defending it, and supporting it.)
But let’s not get into that, I really tire of gaming politics sometimes…

I actually enjoyed it. The 3DS version makes it easier to navigate and makes that one key easier to find.
