I feel kinda bad for the creators on a few levels.

I’ve literally not heard any talk about the gameplay just the fanservice. Which sucks cause so far as I’ve heard and seen it’s actually quite well made. Not my cup of tea, but certainly a well made piece of art.

When I have heard people talk about it outside that it’s always in comparison to Nier Automata because the plots are kind of similar.

Lastly all the videos that pop up in my feed are like under 100K outside of few. Maybe it’s MASSIVE on the Korean side, but first glance it looks to be one of those games that will be the star of “Do you remember this underrated game?” videos in a few years on the english side.

I’ll be honest all the drama with Stellar Blade both the obsessive haters and the obsessive fanatics make me never want to play this game. It’s like the purpose is to be another culture war game.

Just like Tlou 2 I will skip this game and never touch it. I don’t care if its good mid or bad at this point.

Besides I got better games to play like Monkey Island.

Back in the old days, fanservice was just some tertiary feature to story or gameplay. But now it feels like this one feature is the main talk. I guess it shows how ranty people are these days.

From what I’ve seen the general consensus of Stellar Blade is that the combat/gameplay loop is pretty fun, MC is the only character with development, the story and side characters are “eh..”, and it looks really pretty

I don’t get WHY Stellar Blade is getting all this drama when, without it, Stellar Blade woulda just been another one of those Nier Bayonetta MGR:Revengeance Ninja Blade Darksiders God of War Devil May Cry family.

It’s a spectacle fighter. It’s over-indulgent on its over the top cutscenes and gives a bunch of fanservice and…S’all there is to it.

What am I missing here? Eve got a NICE ASS sure but so does two-third of the female characters of any games that I play. Skyrim and Fallout and Cyberpunk 2077 included–because I make sure to mod thiccness into them.

Sexiness despite being tertiary, was blatantly used in the marketing. A lot of game cover art do feature sexy or beautiful women on them.
Is kinna how they drew me in, not gonna lie. Neuron activation for my 14yo brain. So yeah, technically me and other boys came for the promise of booba, stayed for the actual game, kind of.

Matter fact, now that I think about it, We used to play Harvest Moon because we were horny af for them anime waifu. All we would talk about was which girl we ended up marrying in the game. We were 14.

I’d also like to add that Stellar Blade’s fanservice is tertiary to the actual quality of the game itself. It’s just that, ppl kinda hyperfocus on it because it’s part of the aesthetic.

I think the ass physics being part of the marketing is part of the problem (assuming I’m remembering correctly).

Honestly don’t think I’ve ever been more sick of hearing about a game than Stellar Blade, and that’s a type of game that’s normally up my alley. The discourse is somehow worse than Hogwarts Legacy and it’s entirely because almost all of the outrage surrounding this game has been entire manufactured. And nowhere is that more evident than with the reactions to the reviews, where people were more mad that some outlets were giving it decent to good reviews than bad ones, like they wanted ammo to use for their shitty youtube videos saying “WOKE CRITICS ARE TRYING TO KILL THIS GAME”, and now they’re those same people are crying censorship when the devs themselves said before the game officially released saying they were releasing a patch that would fix some problems that got passed QA

Maybe there was a time I want a blond with big boobs. other times I want asian with a fat ass. other times I don’t want humans. Gimme green skins, blue skins, furry legs, robots with no face, 8 feet tall…heck sometimes I may just want an amorphous sexy voice telling me how trash I am as a species.

I’m still getting sold on porn. Because I see nearly all types as potential porn material.

There’s a difference between a game having beautiful characters and the box art/advertisement being scantily clad women who aren’t representative of the game.

Some people are mad, not a huge majority but there’s definitely been a few, at him for caving to Nintendo. But bro. What’s he supposed to do? Say “No” to the billion dollar company who can afford teams of high powered lawyers and crush his lifes work with ease?

Ay this River guy is pretty cute. kinda my type. hardboiled honest cop with a crazy backstory and big muscles. looks intimidating but is surprisingly by the book with a strong sense of justice. It’d be nice if he was a romantic interest.

There has only ever been one case of a lesser defeating a greater in a lawsuit AFAIK, and that was only because Archie provided photocopies of Penders’ contracts, which were subsequently declared invalid.

I’m glad the Freedom Planet 2 consoles ports came out around the time this controversy started, because I don’t know if I could’ve handled another one of these.

I was mildly interested in Stellar Blade going in, but this shit has pretty much guaranteed that I won’t be playing it anytime soon.

The Fallout 4 - the next gen upgrade that did nothing. I tried it for a bit and it still has all of the same old problems. Even the gray texture blocks that sometimes form on overpasses and some buildings are still there. NPC movements and speech tied to framerate that can’t go over 60 and ofc mods are fubar.

We could have had Fallout 5 now to launch next to the show. Sadly Bethesda wasted their time on Starfield, their most bland and dull game to date.

I recommend Fallout 76 over Fallout 4. It gets support and content. They at least try to fix the bugs. Sometimes. It’s hard to be a Bethesda fan sometimes.

I’m pretty sure the update was just to brick the Script Extender so that Fallout London couldn’t launch when planned, or at least it was rushed ahead for that reason.
