Well, no, that’s literally what you’re doing. You aren’t approaching them on equal footing, you’re attempting to approach them firmly believing yourself as right. Which is why nobody engages. If you acted calmly, kept a more open mind, and questioned them like a normal person, I’m sure you’d get a response eventually.

I tried to act calmly many times, people don’t answer because people post their piece and leave. Many other people interacted with braeburned and those other guy before correcting them, even mods.  
You and I have wasted more times arguing wether I should do this than not, just stop and let me interact with them wether it works or not.

Isn’t that exactly what the leaving artist are doing? They want to censor images because the images offend them.

See you, I guess. I got your shit downloaded and have e621. You decided to play social justice and that is how it will be I guess. The site already bans hate speech. If you don’t want to see Nazi content filter out the tag. I am forced to see disgusting foalcon but I’m not quitting the site because muh social justice and muh wokeness. I filter that shit out like the rest of us. Yet you want to play a game of censorship so you go right ahead and delete your shit, and post a DNP. Don’t gotta like you, just have to see your shit on a seperate website. Coding a cross API between Derpi and E621 has been a project of mine recently and I see it will do me well.
 
Uh, could you perhaps elaborate on the subject of that API in DMs? Genuinely curious about the idea here.

I’ve had extremely mixed feelings through all of these developments, and I wish there was a cleaner, clearer resolution to all this. This thread leaves me incredibly worried about the state of derpibooru, though, if it’s a sign of the kind of people and rhetoric who will be left on the site.
 
I don’t want to support censorship here, but there is absolutely a problem that needs addressing in some form or another. :/

I fully support this movement, as I believe all artists have a right to DNP their artwork for any reason whatsoever. I understand you are upset with the decisions of the administration, I think we all are to some degree.
 
However. The artists who made the Anti-Censorship Pledge only wanted the site to be politically neutral, free of censorship, and a set of rules without arbitrary decisions. As I said before the title of the thread is very misleading and disingenuous, because this really has nothing to do with politics in the end: it’s about freedom of expression, and the ability to think and decide for ourselves. For the record: I did not join that anti-censorship pledge nor DNP my art, so I’d like to think I am unbiased here. I just want transparency. Referring to this movement as anti-nazi is misguided, and completely missing the point.

Where did I say they couldn’t leave? It’s totally within their right to leave. Arguing for censorship and threatening to leave if they don’t get their way is what I’m opposed to.

don’t know how to dm, haven’t used the forums EVER and only ever used the account for filters. The idea is making an app, we already have a E621 API mobile creation, The Wolfs Stash v2, and adding the Derpibooru to the pool of images without filters. Just searching two search APIs and returning both results, it can equal in double posting sometimes but who gives a fuck we get to see both sorts of content.

I understand people are upset over this stuff, but how is it suddenly an issue when some of the art has been up for years? Is it because you see an opportunity to strike and remove creative freedom or is it something deeper? Say for example I throw a fit about Starlight Glimmer having art on this site because she resembles communism and Communism has killed millions of people through out the years. Maybe under her reign, there were famines that killed millions. The amount of people upset by me saying that we should remove Starlight Glimmer would be the same as removing these ‘nazi symbols.’ The reasoning behind them saying it to me would be “Its free speech” Which is exactly the same thing as the anti-censorship crowd is saying. We’re all in the same boat, we have different views on things but we can all agree that censorship is bad no matter what the circumstances are.

No they just don’t think like you. So their reasoning is “bad”. I don’t see how you fail to look in the mirror here. You accuse them of being “pro-censorship” when they’re leaving because they don’t like fucking nazi shit.
 
To me it just sounds like, “Whoever doesn’t think exactly like me is wrong in every way, shape, and form. The only right thought is my thought.”
