Ah, haven’t watched the new Ducktales series, but I’ve seen enough commercials to believe you mean Donald Duck. But Donald Duck wasn’t the main character in Ducktales, in fact I don’t remember him even showing up in the series in person (though it has been a long time since I watched it).

That was a cartoon even I didn’t like when it was on t.v. I didn’t hate it tho; I couldn’t even listen to the theme without being embarrassed but now I want to watch it.

I’ve never watched that show, but I do remember seeing promos for it when it was premiering (never looked like something I’d watch anyway), and all the talk I’ve heard about it has been negative. I’m guessing it’s Nickelodeon’s equivalent to Johnny Test?

That show was so freaking awful and hideous, but I doubt it made much of an impact, remember that Nick went on to make Breadwinners a while afterwards

Also worth noting that the showrunner of the new Thundercats said that there would still be plenty of action, and that it’ll be more of an action-comedy rather than strictly comedy.

On the subject of reboots and continuations, you want to know what was a good show? Tron: Uprising.

Is teen titans go just our base for action comedy now? That’s sad… We have OK KO, adventure time and steven universe we could be comparing it to isntead.

Let’s face facts. Cartoon Network has not had the best track record when it comes to reboots of their old cartoons, the obvious examples being Teen titans go, the 2016 reboot of Powerpuff girls and the recent reboot of Ben 10. Hopefully, Cartoon Network will have learned it’s lessons when making the new thunder cats cartoon.

It clearly isnt being made to hock toys at children so it probably wont be handled like ppg/ben10. It also has passion put behind it so it’s not going to end up like ttg.  
The main problem with a lot of current CN reboots is they were either made to sell toys or fill a schedule. Thundercats roar doesn’t have that motivation behind it. It’s being made because there’s some form of passion and drive behind it to see it succeed.

While cartoons have always been designed to sell toys, it sucks that they can’t separate the medium. Toy designs are great, but that shouldn’t be a problem against good storytelling. Ben 10 Omniverse was obviously designed for toys and yet, I still loved the story.
 
Cartoon Network used to be about funny cartoons, often separated from their toy line. And then when the management changed, it removed the cartoons for some reason. And now with another new management, it’s all reboots and toy sales.

Looking at Gumball, you can tell that it’s a cartoon that keeps people engaged into CN, and thus to cartoons that have toys.
 
High ratings, good reviews, etc.. Cartoon Network would be suicidal to remove that.
