When its actually his intention to use his fire, he’s melted both metal and a much larger body of ice in a couple of seconds, so I really doubt his fire wouldn’t instantly reduce a timberwolf to ashes if he tried like those times.
 
And even if this happened it wouldn’t really change his situation since he’s immune to fire. In fact, it would still be a good thing since the timberwolf is now on a timer until it burns down, so he just has to run a little while more.

Not all. In fact, the ONLY things he’s ever teleported are scrolls (and a card one time).  
On the other hand, ever other thing he’s used his fire on has instantly burned or melted away. Including books, wood and metal. And during the Equestria Games, his fire was clearly orange and melted a huge ice chunk.

Fucking THIS! I had no idea this had happened in a previous gen…  
That’s the first thing I thought of when I saw this episode.  
Its a monster made of wood and leaves. You’re a motherfucking firebreathing DRAGON.  
We’ve seen you burn stuff before, and that one time during the games you shot a huge fire blast.  
Why the hell are you not breathing fire on these plant monsters goddamit.
