Yeah, at this certain moment, Trixie was attempting suicide. Think about it.

Oh no, i’m sorry. i must have miss-worded myself somewhere. I know for a fact that Fluttershy and Twilight would have saved Trixe if need be. That’s just the kind of ponies they are. The kind that would flying tackle a perfect stranger out of the way of oncoming traffic, at risk to themselves.

I just meant that Trixie had no way of knowing that, based on her limited knowledge of Fluttershy’s character and based on the way that Twilight had treated her all episode.

Episode-wise i myself enjoyed it, despite Twilight being the bad guy for the most part and despite not really enjoying the Celestia scenes. They both seemed a tad out of character and Celestia didn’t even have a speaking role which, for a pony who really seems to like talking, is most uncanny. But, i enjoyed this episode overall. I agree with you about being sick of people not liking this episode because it’s ‘dark and edgy’. It’s not nearly like that, it’s not that serious, and they need to stop trippin.

If that’s what you want to think I’m just sick of people saying they hate the episode because it was dark and edgy when the only thing dark and edgy is them for interpreting it that way and yes there have been quite a few people who use their interpretation as an excuse to hate this episode.

While I do agree Trixie didn’t know per se that fluttershy or twilight would help your statement that Fluttershy might not help because it’s Trixie is ridiculous she is the element of kindness she’s not going to just say fuck them let them die that’s not in her character same goes for twilight even in previous seasons she would have saved Trixie regardless of circumstance.

All i want to say is this.

If Trixie actually had been trying to commit suicide, she would indeed have been perfectly safe for the reasons you stated. However, I doubt Trixie would have realized that. Trixie knows almost nothing about Fluttershy and i highly doubt she knew that Fluttershy once stood up to a dragon that she was terrified of in order to save her friends. But, then, Fluttershy did so to save her friends of which Trixie definitely would not count. I can’t recall the last time Fluttershy risked her life to save random ponies on the street, when the world itself wasn’t in danger. She warned ponies about stampedes and smoke, but she was never herself in harm’s way from that. Trixie had no reason to think that Fluttershy would save her.

As for Twilight, she had made it clear all episode that she didn’t trust or even particularly like Trixie. She certainly wasn’t acting like they were cool after the events of Magic Duel or like she had Trixie’s best interests at heart. Certainly it would be strange for a Princess to just stand by and let someone die, but Trixie knew Twilight long before she ascended and, when it comes to their personal interactions, Twilight hasn’t acted all that different. Twilight did save Trixie in Boast Busters, but it could also be argued that the whole town was in danger at the time and that Twilight’s main goal was to save it. Until the end of the episode Twilight went out of her way to split up Starlight and Trixie so with all that Trixie had no real reason to believe that Twilight would step in and help.

So even though we, the audience, knew she was perfectly safe doing her trick, Trixie, herself, did not. Even though it’s just fan interpretation that she was attempting suicide/doing a dangerous trick and not caring if she died in the attempt, and even though Jim Miller has stated otherwise, I do feel it was/is still a reasonable conclusion to draw given Trixie’s history and given the context.

Twilight could see the whole thing they were watching it and she went with starlight to the cart at the same time hence her being there to apologize to Trixie, fluttershy was also terrified of the dragon but still jumped in to save her friends if it had started to go wrong I guarantee she would have jumped and made it let her out she probably would have even used the stare if needed.

Also this is MLP they wouldn’t have her commit suicide it was a stunt a dangerous one yes but still a stunt one she had been planning on doing for years, Jim Miller already stated she was not intending to kill herself and that is merely fan interpretation.

I think all the people claiming this was an attempt at suicide despite the presence of fluttershy, twilight and the fact the manticore was obviously trained are trying too hard and probably full of angst.

I didn’t make the issue clear enough. It’s not “going into a war” that distinguishes transgender Veterans; all combat Veterans have done that. What you find with many of the transgender Vets is that they were unusually often in Special Forces units, and tended to be unusually highly decorated even for Special Forces. They had lots of medals including lots of Purple Hearts. They didn’t merely “go into a war,” so much as, once in a war, they singlehandedly stormed several machine gun nests, jumped on grenades, ran back into the ambush to rescue downed comrades, volunteered several times for missions that gave them less than even odds of coming out alive, etc.. The goal was not to die, but to “finally do something that would let them feel like a man.” But if they happened to die trying, that beat feeling the way they did.

Trixie wasn’t hoping to die in the Manticore’s stomach, she was hoping she’d find some happiness in proving she could do the impossible trick, after she screwed up her chance of finding happiness as Starlight’s friend. Even if she didn’t really think she could. But if not, death was probably the next best outcome.

I just want to point out that the manticore was very calm and polite after trixie came back out, and even bowed to the audience

this was clearly a trained manticore.

Not caring if you happen to die is not the same as trying to kill yourself.
It’s a continuum. It’s seen a lot for example in counseling transgender veterans. They tend to be overrepresented among special forces. A lot of them went into the military in the first place in desperation to “make a man out of them.” And while the preferred goal was “make themselves properly male,” dying in the attempt was still preferable to going on living as they were. But it wasn’t suicide; they hoped for an actual resolution.

Going into a war not caring whether you come back is one thing, but this was quite on the spot. Jumping into a carnivore’s mouth and not caring whether you live or not? That’s basically the same as throwing yourself in front of a train at full speed and not caring whether you live. One may care less for outcome, but you basically know You’re going to die immediately, as opposed to playing your chances to die in a dangerous environment.

While I wouldn’t say Trixie was trying to off herself, she was definitely recklessly endangering herself by giving up control of her life and putting it in the hooves of someone who may or may not save her. Sort of like closing your eyes and walking out into the street and trusting that a deity will protect you and you won’t be hit by a car.
It was kind of a super emo drama moment that could have had very real consequences (as they sometimes do)

Oh, yes, this was definitely the most vore-ish thing that has been on the show thus far. As in, actual vore. Even if she was teleported out, it still counts. I hope that bullet turban she was wearing is digestible xD

Looked to me like the spell was cast after she was swallowed. Maybe only a second or two went by but I’d say it looked to me that Trixie got to see what the inside of a Manticore looks like. Even if it was only for a second.
