I still contend the Hearth’s Warming Eve play was originally a propaganda piece designed to promote Celestia’s rule. Chancellor Puddinghead is a strawman created to discredit the idea of democracy, just as Princess Platinum was a parody of hereditary monarchy and Commander Hurricane a parody of military dictatorship.
