From their ideas to helping big mac hook up with surgarbell, to their behavior in general, it just made them look so much more childish than they are. I mean look at the previous episode JUST BEFORE THIS ONE for peats sake! Forever Filly! It points out that she’s growing up! What happened? Did she take an immaturity pill or something?
As much as I hate this rabbit…these were my exact reactions as the episode went on…

You both make good points but I just can’t see the current more mature cmc getting their hook-up ideas from a storybook. They can still act like kids at times of course because lord knows my niece still behaved like a kid a lot when she was 15 but I hope the writers have them take (at the very least) a slightly more mature approach to future situations of this nature.
I guess I’m being abit too much of a critic, huh?

Besides;
To me only three years have gone by in this show
I don’t think the CMC are teens.
They did have the right, mature, idea in wanting Big Mac just to talk with her, it was only when the other pony got in the way that they decided they needed to do big, ridiculous things.
Obviously its a familiar show. The staff won’t write an episode about Rarity makes her taxes or Pinkie Gets + at her HIV test.
Unlike (most) humans, ponies don’t seem to worry much about indulging their childish natures.
@Splinter
Aren’t we all too old to watch this show?

Old enough for sex in some countries…
Also
>”by god forbid someone want to remark about their growth and everyone assumes they imply they aren’t allowed to behave like kids still.”
Ya, and we are pointing out how they have grown but as they ARE still kids you can’t excpect them to not act like kids.
God forbid people can see how they can both mature and still act like the kids they are.

Well you come off like you are saying they didn’t grow at all, when they clearly did even in the very way they are acting you say is them not showing they have grown.
They are trying these things out WITH Mac, showing they have grown to realized it takes someone actully looking to start a relationship for it to happen.
But are still kids and have no relationship experience at all, all they really know IS the stuff in story books. so they get it wrong.
