Originally this was supposed to be only a facial portrait of Ocellus for the Equestria at War mod, but I decided to make a full body purification cheese-legsification of Ocellus.
Hey, he said “sooner or later”. And guess what? It’s later.
Took you long enough.
Well not exactly. We don’t know what she actually would’ve looked like pre-purification, and with gen 4 coming to a close, we will probably never know, so an artist’s interpretation is likely the best we’re going to get.
That’s exactly the same thing.
Or at the Giulio’s interpretation of what Ocellus looked like pre-purification.

I like the Fly Paper pun but what about Setae as a biological name for Changeling “hair”?
Fly paper. Kidding. I ain’t a biology guy, but they probably got a word or two fitting for the name for fictional bughorse hair. :3
Or whatever changelings call their manes…
Fair enough point. She doesn’t have bug eyes and she also has hair.
Her case is unique because her face is less Alien-y than regular changelings. <w<

That I can more or less agree with you on. I think what they were trying to go for was the same look that quite a lot of colorful beetles (and other insects) have. But for whatever reason, they just couldn’t get them to look as good as the real-life insects (time or budget reasons, Flash limitations, etc.). I think what they did with Ocellus by using fewer colors and keeping things simple was the better way to go with this sort of thing.
I really don’t have anything against the designs of the “pure” changelings’, it’s just the awful color schemes (and especially Thorax’s) that I don’t like.
If they just took a few shades of one or two similar colors (or even complimentary colors) and ran with it, then I’d have no issues at all with them.

I find both types of Changelings cute. Still wish Thorax had a different color scheme but even with his gaudy colors, I still find him very cute despite that.

Hon, please. The classic black/dark-grey changelings are much cuter than most of the new bright and colorful “purified” ones.
Ocellus is honestly the only new-style changeling I genuinely like the design of, and even then, I still think she looks better like this.
She looked like Barbara, because of her smile and that cute, little fang~
