I like the idea that Gruff didn’t want some homeless teenager cluttering up his city so he sent him to the ponies to get rid of him. It’s so comically dark.

Maybe Gallus volunteered? I doubt that Twilight would force the other species to send anycreature to her school. Or prevent them from sending more than one person.

he is liekly an ex soldiers/knight. he is the same gryphon that was scarred in that flasback to the cyclops attack.
This image implies Gruff has enough pull because he’s nasty enough to force other griffons into a semblance of line. Gabby tried to speak up or even do anything and Gruff just shot her an evil eye, forcing her to lose her happy mood.
I don’t think he has much of a choice.
