And here’s the thing. Whatever her intentions, and whatever the quality, the primary audience is, and always has been, little girls. It’s just that the show’s actually good and appeals to adults as well because the writers actually give a damn.
My point is that that BP said that the “audience of little girls hated it too”, and yet did not provide a source. I see this constantly when Starlight’s redemption comes up, because jackasses in this fandom can’t comprehend that people can have different opinions than them, and have to make up bullshit that they can’t prove so that they can pretend their whining is valid.
Actually, Lauren Faust has said that she made FiM for adults too(including male adults), so it’s not a show that was made just for little girls.
I love how people who hate Starlight INSIST that the target audience hated it too despite never providing an actual source for this.

She was also beyond furious at that time and therefore had a power boost.
By the way, the episode is not hated.
She surendered in spite of Twilight mysteriously not being able to defeat her.

Many ponies suffered and died in those timelines.

Glimmy was also the first antagonist who surrendered willingly and was ready to accept any punishment.

And her reformation as Twilys first student was the “punishment”.

Well, I’d say that it depends on how you think the spacetime continuum works. I think Doc Brown did a good job explaining it.
And if nothing of that happened, then it is hardly any better, for it made everything obsolete including the lives and heroic actions of everyone (I mean come on, Shy and Zecora lead the rebellion, Rainbow as a badass commander of Equestrian army, that was cool!)
My problem with Glimmer comes from the fact that she is a criminal who never got a proper punishment. She kidnapped and indoctrinated numerous civilians, attacked and kidnapped one of the rulers of Equestria and its heroes, tried to subjugate them through the magical and psychological means, later stalked them and attacked again, and messed with the time magic.
Hell, Luna didn’t do even a fraction of that and had to be banished for a thousand years.
Plus she is a Mary Sue. (Still better character than Rey though)
Twilight caused more problems with mind control then she has and they made her a princess.
Nothing of that happened.
