Description

There’s a lot of negativity and panic going around the media lately because of the newly passed Directive along with it’s Articles 11 and 13 that were stirring up controversies. The best way to stay calm and keep your mind focused is to read the below document that explains what will be the changes and how far will they reach in our everyday life. I hope that after reading this (link below), people will better understand the situation that we have found ourselves in.

thank you.

I don’t think it’s too extreme. I just think it’s in a bad taste and stupid, but to be completely honest, most April Fools jokes are stupid and a high amount of them are in bad taste… At least in my mind. But it is all in all my own opinion and it’s viable to be biased so I’m not a reason to do something about it. Just voicing my concern..

Because humor never worked as a form of peaceful protest, and no site going dark in response to draconian regulation ever raised awareness of any problem ever. /s

Come on. You’ve never hesitated to talk about our site as being dead already, or to try to silence the voices of others who disagree with you, call them traitors, or to leap to the most extreme position possible.

But assuming this was an April Fool’s event, our using this holiday as an opportunity to parody laws like SOPA and Article 13, and maybe raise a little awareness about something everyone should have some reasonable, but not manic, concern about, is definitely going too far?

Right.

Please excuse me while I ignore any ideas you have about what is “too extreme”.

There were no internet nor free information transfer in the last 4000 years. In the past 100 years we mastered flight, faster travel and now information technology. It’s obvious that the progress is going at a alarming pace right now, but it’s only natural. Remember that there were really big gaps between stone, bronze and further ages and they became gradualy shortened.

this also applies to the US. and the argument with common language is mute. We do have lingua Franca and it is taught to children in all member states for at least 30 years on mandatory. Accents in native language will always be there as well as dialects. American English is a dialect.

Difference between Great Brittain is that it is a “union” of unlikely states that were separate while Silesia was never autonomous and during most of it’s existance it belonged to Poland. While both Scottland and Ireland are very independent in their culture and have national history and structures, Silesia is not more culturally independent than any other region of Poland and there are no strong sedition fronts there.

Cultures mix all the time. There is no monogamous American culture nowadays, never truly was as they are amalgamates of other cultures that came or were on the continent when the nation formed. IT doesn’t mean that it’s bad. There would never be a monogamous European Culture… But there would still be a European Culture overall. And it would be great.

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

the problem is, the EU is totally different than the US, in the EU you have so many different cultures, lifestyles and language, each country is massively different to all the others. a unification starts with a common language. in this concern, even Germany is still a bit split (in the minds of the people), but I don’t mean east/west split but more so the countries from the 1800s when it was split into 100 small ones, because they have still the different languages (dialects) and cultures. in another 100 years those splits will be gone.
this split in the mind can be easily seen in the votings in GB (between England and Scotland) and also in Poland between west(ex Germany) and east. they are all not fully united.

To be honest, most people here want their children or close ones to inherit a better world that they themselves inherited.

That’s why both sides are kind and good but cannot agree because they have different views of what will be better for the Greater Good.

I see it simply: United we Stand, Divided we fall.

I come from a country that stood alone for too long. With maybe two friends, my homeland was torn and shred to pieces and nobody ever helped. We endured occupations, Russian-Prussian-German at first, then nazi German one, then Soviet one. Nobody ever cried for us. We were uncomfortable. Our heroes were too bothersome to politics and they were swept away and forgotten for too long. Our very soul, our spirit was crippled. We are a nation of cripples.

And I know that a Federal Europe would prevent that from happening or at least give a sense of security that we will no longer be alone and afraid that we won’t again be left for the wolves. That maybe when we’re part of the greater good our wounds will finally heal and our souls will finally rest easy.

I won’t agree. They have constitution and the US is not occupying Germany. As a person who grew up in a post-occupation country that was occupied for over 50 years by different invaders and only recently regained it’s sovereignty I feel insulted.

Germany is not under occupation, it, as well as Japan is under obligations for what the country did during World War II and their armed forces are mostly self-defense. They cannot wage wars on their own, though in current day and age they can help defend member countries of the EU.

Federalization is not losing sovreignity. It’s letting others have equal chances. Federal countries would still be ruled by their chosen governors and would just have the greater good of all member states above them. It would be a more open, less xenophobic Unites States, not built on the backs of slaves and invaded natives. No loss of sovreignity. Amalgamate of the continent.

@British-Heavy-Metal-Dude
How is that actually different than England being a bully to Scotland and Ireland and not letting them stay in the EU when they want to?

Answer is simple: BREXIT will be a punishment for Great Brittain because they will lose all of the previledges the EU gave them, and EU doesn’t want to give in to demands of someone who wants to leave. And it will also hit the EU because the exit of a core member will cause the Euro to lose it’s value. Great Brittain will be getting all the dotations that other members pumped into it just like they did to other members, and the EU will lose a big portion of it’s treasury/market value.

This is as stupid of a move as people who actually want autonomy for Silesia in Poland.

I am really conflicted in reality
The Pro-EU users seem like very nice people, While at the same time, Anti-EU users are very nice too
