Exactly my point.
So basically the lesson learned is that RD has good instincts, and a few red herrings isn’t a reason to be complacent. Sort of a reverse lesson of the boy who cried wolf, if say the wolf who ate the shepard boy attacked the village while not on alert.
Makes sense, hell, the cinematic movie wouldn’t of even happened if RD wasn’t there to botch the Storm Kings plan. They crafted perfect items for capturing the alicorns, but couldn’t plan around one quick thinking speedster.
Thank you for taking the time to respond. I can’t relate, because I’ve seen way too many weird fantasies to care about people wanting to draw Snowdrake R34, and I don’t feel like I’m in a position to judge fans for their LGBTQ+ headcanons with the embarrassing amount of Twidash fanart in my favorites. But I wanted to hear what issue people have with the Undertale fandom, and I’m glad to get an actual, detailed answer.
Instead of going “POLITICALLY CORRECT REEEEEEEEEE” maybe your reaction should be “UNDEREXPLOITED DEMOGRAPHIC FOUND AND THEN RUN INTO THE GROUND BY COPYCATS REEEEEEEEEEEEE”?
Or maybe just don’t let other people’s different enjoyment of something ruin your independent enjoyment of it? Glob knows I mentally block out huge parts of the brony community. It’s a lot easier when you don’t have a presence on social media, granted…

I struggle with my remaining ability to appreciate Undertale for a variety of reasons. I absolutely hate people shipping the already inherently-creepy genderless children, or drawing genderfluid nonbinary r34 of the more bizarre-looking monsters that don’t conform to any known standards of attractiveness and only a politically-correct furfag would find attractive. That said, some of the female monsters like Muffet, Alphys and Toriel are actually fairly pleasant to look at design-wise. And Sans is actually a pretty cool character, even though I found Papyrus to be sorta annoying.
It’s the horrible generic Steven Universe-lookalike fanart that really got me, along with other similar progressive changes in other series around that time, and has twisted my vision of the game into “POLITICALLY-CORRECT GENDERQUEER SJW CANCER REEEEEE!!!” All this started happening to me about a year ago.
You’re welcome. :)
I’m not very familiar with the Undertale franchise, thanks for the clarification and context.
That’s literally what Sans follows his “geeettttttt dunked on!!!” line with, on that “game over” screen.
Yeesh, kinda harsh there.
Doubtful, she seemed to be having just as much a good time as everyone else, the thing is she was the only one prepared for anything involving Haywire magic because that’s pretty much how any of their usual daily activities went. She was just taking it too far at certain points.
Like I said before, if she didn’t go looking for Magic, the Storm King’s hurricane would have obliterated the boat.
Shoving her through the portal saved her from the plant, yes. The thing I’m arguing against is her deserving to be shoved into non-magical quicksand, which is what some of the comments here are suggesting.

She wasn’t being paranoid. She was looking for danger because she was bored. Everyone else was trying to relax, and she said “screw this, I’m gonna go looking for a fight”.
Also, if we’re going to play the “but it turned out good” card, shoving her down through the portal was probably better for her in the long run than letting her get eaten by a giant plant. :P
Honestly I don’t go out of my way to look for it, cause I don’t even bother to look in the first place.
I’ve simply heard nightmares, so I stay away, simple as that.
Whoopsie daisy, accidental double negative.
In my experience, those who complain the most about so-and-so’s fandom being toxic are usually those who go out of their way to look for the most unsavory parts of said fandom.
I’m not denying that the aforementioned toxicity doesn’t exist, mind you, just saying that it’s grossly blown out of proportion by people who have nothing better to do than complain.
They make skeleton jokes. No foolin’

That’s kind of unjustifiably harsh, considering the fact that she was technically looking for corrupted magic to stop it… and was 100% RIGHT that magic was the cause.
Hell, keep in mind that if she hadn’t gone off, Sunset and Twilight wouldn’t have found her, discovered the portal, and realized whose magic was causing the entire storm, and as a result said storm would have destroyed the boat and everyone on it.
Yeah RD was impulsive, but her heart was in the right place and her paranoia ended up saving everyone.

After all of Dash’s bullshit in the first half of the special, I think she enjoyed it a perfectly justifiable amount. :P

I haven’t even watched and I feel the same way :U
