This scene made me really think about Celestia, and though I love my sunhorse, and think she’s usually quite adorable, this had me a little scared tbh. It made me wonder if deep down, when pushed, Celly still thinks she is an autarch and that she alone can dictate to others how to behave. Maybe I read too much into it.

I don’t think Celestia sees Luna as a kid though, that’s part of why she was so angry in this scene,
because she finds Luna’s behavior to be ‘childish’. She wants a sister to ‘rely on’ (or ‘boss around’).

In the full context of the scene Celestia makes it clear she feels like she has to micromanage everything and everyone, including her little sister. The only way she could feel like she still has to take care of her sister is if she thinks she can’t take care of herself. That she’s a child in need of a parental figure. Another tell would be the way Celestia refused to do almost anything Luna wanted to do. Celestia came across as a control freak in this episode who insists she needs to mother everyone.

I think they both got a bit scary in this scene, honestly.
They got way more aggressive and intense than back in A Royal Problem too.
And to think Starlight was panicking about that.

Well at least the sisters worked things out on their own this time.

That, and she still sees Luna as a child rather than an adult. A problem that wasn’t resolved. It was just sort of ignored which was weird.
