Cosmos is the spirit of Malice, not Chaos
While this fan comic was pretty good, (I wouldn’t say a “masterpiece” though, no offense to the artist) honestly it’s a li’l too dark, and edgy to be on par with anything canon MLP IMO.
While canon MLP admittedly has it’s dark moments, (even in the original ‘80s cartoon) but in the end it’s not supposed to be this dark, so it still feels like a fan comic to me.
(Not that there’s anything wrong with that.)

Yes, Cosmos divide everbody, but her concept idea can be a masterpiece, that mini-comic shows the true potential of the Cosmos arc that Kate Cook never show.
Just imagine the dialogue between Cosmos and Discord of this mini-comic in the battle show, making that end like Spider-Man vs Misterio in Far from home with the wonderful visual storytelling by Andy Price
I dunno, some fans are kinda divided on the Cosmos story, and such. Still, it’s interesting giving Discord his own villain, and one just as powerful as he is. (Or even more.)
All that because IDW and fanworks actually shows other things about Discord instead of be Furry Q who bother other characters.
Accord, Cosmos, his team up with Luna, all of those IDW ideas shows a more human Discord who have his own dilemmas. Nobody disagree that they can do it better, but IDW cares about Discord than the writers of S8-29, and the fans can take the IDW ideas to show masterpieces like that mini-comic.
He has good points sometimes in the show, I feel. I did like his befriending of the CMC in the IDW comic canon. In the show, his only interaction with them is startling them, and then them blowing raspberries at him.
Looking back, in the show, oftentimes the ponies are kinda rude to him, even when he’s not doing anything wrong, or even subtly helping them in his own strange way. At least, in the comics he’s treated a li’l better, despite still being a not always reliable ally.
From what little I’ve seen in both official and fan works; I like comic discord better. In the show he just sort of shows up and pisses everyone off.
A bit dark, but pretty good, and as I said it’s nice to see a more sympathetic portrayal of Discord. Even if I’m not a “Fluttercord” fan it handles their relationship well too.

And yes, he can kill himself by acting normal but… that’s something that Fluttershy don’t want, she loves him for he is.
His only destiny is be alone with Cosmos and Princess Eris, just because we don’t know if the alicorns actually are immortals or not.
But Harmony needs a spirit of Chaos, and maybe the next one won’t be as “fun” as Discord.

I thought that was what we were talking about? Because it’s about as much Fluttershy’s business if Discord wants to have to die as the opposite would be for him. Let’s not forget, she might hate the idea of him throwing away his immortality as well. Nopony wants their loved ones to die.
So I did, my mistake. That’s the failing of the human brain for you, it’s very eager to take short cuts when reading, and I’ve been guilty of that too much for my liking.

Discord can make himself mortal without asking Fluttershy bcs how’s that her business ?
I agree with the posts if we talk about the usual “make Shy a god” argument but Discord making himself mortal isn’t smth that’s anycreatures business but himself.
Discord is not one to ask beforehand. That’s his failing. His main flaw. He’s arrogant. He never stopped being arrogant. It’s what keeps getting him into trouble, his planet-sized ego. So no, he wouldn’t ask Fluttershy before doing it, thinking he knew best anyway, and even if he considered how she’d react he would be completely convinced he can always defuse the situation… because’s he’s Discord.
Every time I see someone make that argument, I think the same thing; did it ever occur to you that not only could that be something beyond Discord’s abilities, but that could be something Fluttershy would never want for herself?
