Description

The moment in the final MLP episodes where after the villains got defeated once again, and Chrysalis yells at Twilight, swearing vengeance on her once again as she still can’t get it through her pathetic bug brain that she’s a loser and that friendship is stronger and has beaten her a dozen times no matter how she plans.

She probably would have been wiser to take the last chance to surrender that the ponies were giving her, but Chrissy is Chrissy.

Alrighty then, she was more pissed than she was scared at this point. A decent compromise?

…how does that contradict anything I said, about how they’re not really sympathetic in their portrayals throughout the season, even if they were entertaining?

I’m not sure what point you’re even trying to make here. I already knew they acted to counter unity, spread disharmony, so their plans would go by more smoothly.

@AC97
Actually during Summer Sunset Setback, Tirek, Cozy and Chrysails used their teamwork to get in to Canterlot and managed to sneak past Twilight and her friends (EVEN DISCORD :0) to get the book to how to use Grogar’s bell and it also made them figure out the true main source of power to Mane 6’s success at the end of that episode that Sombra never found out on his own.

They never so much as once did anything “nice” for any person

Tirek returned Chrysalis her magic, that could be considered nice.

What did they do in The Summer Sun Setback that was worthy of much sympathy, other than Tirek catching a bird?

They were still basically complete assholes aside of that bait-and-switch (that they willfully denied) in Frenemies, an episode which also made it clear in no uncertain terms that they wanted to painfully kill their enemies, and they still screwed over Rusty Bucket for kicks. It also kinda still played up Chrysalis’ fear factor.

To crush our enemies to dust
And laugh as they all scream!
(To which they all laughed)

I don’t think that scenes like that were framed to garner much sympathy, with how they were taking pleasure in the chaos they wrought, and how they suddenly appeared in a flash of lightning.

If you think about it, they never so much as once did anything “nice” for any person not in their group of three, that didn’t have ulterior motives (and that possibly applies to them interacting amongst themselves as well on a general level, like say, playing a game of chess together, Cozy and Tirek), in the entirety of S9, and they still enjoyed screwing others over, causing trouble.

Cozy Glow: You knew you couldn’t stay that buff. You had to return all the life force to those Earth ponies so Grogar doesn’t suspect anything.
Lord Tirek: I don’t have to like it.

Now, that being said, their entertainment value was high when they were all playing off one another, in the episodes, but that isn’t equivalent to “sympathetic overall.”
