Actually, it seems for the vast majority of them that they put their souls into the episodes they worked on. They just never had more than an episodic association with the show, because that’s what Hasbro does. I mean, if you talk to someone like Mitch Larson, he certainly doesn’t sound like it was just a paycheck. I mean - it WAS a paycheck, but he opened a vein for the show more than once.
That would explain the show’s quality. They really did came for the paycheck or they figured they have all the power to write absolutely whatever they want. .

are … are you seriously asking how someone else knows that show writers don’t make decisions like how many episodes there are per season, or how many seasons there should be?
How do you know that?
Show writers aren’t the ones who make decisions on the scale of “more seasons, Y/N?”; if they were, there would be dozens of high quality shows on Netflix and Disney+ that would run 20 seasons instead of 2. With FIM in particular, the writers were just work-for-hire contractors, not actual show staffers.
