Maybe because the G5 Style is not so Popular in the Fandom.
Maybe it will more Popular if more Artists have the Basic Models and if Hasbro add G4 Stuff.
But maybe the G4 Stuff is Movie only and will not added in the Show.

Well if Hasbro not do the FiM in that Style maybe we have then much Fan animations on youtube who are more Successfull then the new Ponys.  
Especialy if they tell the Fans the Mane 6 and all FiM Ponys incl the Alicorns are dead.  
I don’t expect to see an permanent or any Alicorn in G5 and if Sunny (usual the short Version of Sunset Shimmer) turn into an Alicorn, like Dr Wolf see it as Posibility (after an Costume Photo), then many will see her as cheap Twilight Replacement.  
For me sunny is Scootaloo as Earth Pony and the Voices behind the chars are known G4 Voices like Hitch/Flash Sentry.

This is so cleanly done! It’s perfect. Way better than the Mane 6 attempt.
 
All the Mane 6 attempt needs is more variety in the faces and faces that better reflect the personalities. The mane 6 one is just “Everyone is :D” and it’s weird on everyone except Pinkie.
 
This one actually has different faces. Another try at the Mane 6 and make Dash look more smug, Fluttershy look more demure, ect.
