Certainly was for Sunset. Two years ago you could bash her all you want and get a big hug. Bash her now and literally EVERYONE will jump on you.
Myself included. XD
RR was the turning point for a lot of us, wasn’t it?
I changed my mind as soon as I saw RR’s trailer
I’m willing to accept it whether it makes sense or not, on the grounds that it sets the stage for “Rainbow Rocks”.
Personally, I just pretended that Sunset’s sudden redemption at the very end was the Kamen Rider Fourze reference that I had been hoping that EQG would make, because that sort of thing happened all the time on Fourze. Heck, Gentaro managed to reform the big freakin’ bad.
It seemed she didnt think there was another way other then gaining power througha ny means nessessary.
She discovered “The power of Friendship” and wants to see how that works.
Sorry for not being clear. I meant Sunset’s. It just didn’t make sense. I can rationalize Trixie’s redemption but not Sunset’s.
Trixie’s or Sunsets?
I personally didn’t buy her redemption.
Going by the comic, she has far more skill then Twilight has ever shown.
See the movie…
Although to be honest Trixie is reformed in the series so why is she here?
Sunset’s about as reformed as my left buttcheek is the queen of Arabia.
She was reformed though. but then again so was Discord.
Also finally some comments that actually involve the picture.
You know, mind telling me the scene you where talking about? Since the only lwwwe weight telekinesis struggle Twilight has shown had to do with her moving the animals in the figure 8?
Twilight didn’t struggle with that, Fluttershy was just being anxious.
Trixie scrunched Spike into a ball in Magic Duel, but she needed more focus to do that than to lift him up.
And cruhing is simply putting in force from 2 or more areas onto a object.
Which isn’t something that you’d have trouble with in real life or something that has been a problem in the show.
You’re also assuming that unicorn levitation works like a physical hand, which might not be true. The magic aura special effect, which is visible to the audience but not the characters, has been used for more than one kind of spell. Just because something uses the magic glow doesn’t mean that it’s levitation. A mustache growing spell and a animation spell both used the same effect.

Planning makes a big difference, and a lot of spells use similar effects. Besides, the stuff that Twilight was manipulating was all stuff that she had seen around town before hand. It was stuff that she knew the location of, which makes it different from affecting something that she has never seen before.
Would it not be hard to not accidentally squash someone with a hug?
Not really. Twilight has had her powers for years, more than long enough to get use to how much energy she outputs. Besides, Twilight was lifting, not crushing. Have you ever squeezed a box by accident when you picked it up?
Aside from that incident with Trixie and Spike, which took special effort, levitation just plain doesn’t seem to have a crush effect.
