The blurrness was mostly noticeable in a few games like Smash TV & Rampage, if you compare them to screenshots of the original arcade game, and such. I kinda like being able to see the pixels in old-school games.
If it was for PS3 then it was probably Midway Arcade Orgins then. I never played that newer one, so I don’t know if the graphics were clearer in it, or not.
I only have the ones on PS2 and the recent PS3 release… Didn’t really notice any blurriness.
I don’t know about that, but it would have to be a pretty big video to take up most of a GameCube, or PS2 disc. (“Gems Collection” was also for PS2 in some areas.)
Though in the previous collection game “Sonic Mega Collection” there was oddly a strange test video featuring no sound, and unknown characters.
@YukoAsho
That’s debatable, as the Sonic collection games look more pixel-perfect, and clearer to me. The ones in “Midway Arcade Treasures” looked kinda blurry. (Probably due to the GameCube’s pixel resolution, or because they didn’t emulate them very well.)
Wasn’t there a short, unaccesible video of San Francisco on the disc that took up most of the disc itself?
To be fair, more effort was probably put into Midway Arcade Treasures than Sega’s been putting into collections lately.
I like the USA soundtrack, but would’ve been nice to have the Japanese version to.
I was more upset at how they edited-out the “Streets of Rage” games in the American version of “Sonic Gems Collection.”
(Some speculate it was to keep the E-rating, dispite the fact at around the same time the E-10 rating was just released by the ESRB, so it likely wouldn’t of gotten a “T” rating anyways.)
That fuckin’ only gave us Sonic CD’s US soundtrack. Shame on them.
I never played it, so I can’t judge it. Just watched Youtube video of it.
I heard they were considering including “Sega Sonic Arcade” in 2005’s “Sonic Gems Collection” game, however they had trouble recreating the trackball controls with the analogue stick, so they left it out.
Odd, considering “Midway Arcade Treasures” emulated Marble Madness fine with a control stick. (Though, required you to hold a button down to move faster.)
I guess, but far as I can see, you’re asked to do a lot more, a lot more quickly, in Segasonic.
Well, a trackball worked fine for some games like “Marble Madness,” and such.
If they didn’t look so much like her skin, then maybe she wouldn’t be known as ‘the pants-less princess’.
Those were supposed to be Pantyhose.
The keyword being “Supposed.”
Does she have inexplicably tanned legs too?
I like Rotor, but I can’t really imagine he’d be fun to play as… Unless he uses his nano-mech suit from the comics, which was pretty cool.
But yeah, alot of people didn’t really like the whole “Princess Elise” thing. (I must add, that’s actually my Mother’s name.)
Still, the comparison is apt. Though, at least it doesn’t try to turn bestiality into a thing your entire family wouldn’t be ashamed of? ‘06 would have been heaps better if it was one of the pre-existing characters from the comics. Hell, I’d rather have a game where you play as Rotor.
Well, to be fair, it’s only competition is Sonic Battle…
…that one was pretty good.
That it did. It’s like the Sonic ‘06 of Sonic-based fighting games, except it didn’t completely suck orange balls.
Yeah, even the arcade unit actually looks very accurate to the way the arcade machines were drawn in “Hearts & Hooves Day.”
Needs a “Sega” logo on it somewhere though to look more like a legit machine.
How do you guys remember to do things like…
“Press up, back, A, B, C, D, forward, diagonally, forward, B, A. B to throw a fireball?!” I never could understand that. Though, at least with Sonic Fighters, some characters had moves that weren’t that complicated.
@Background Pony
They’re the same character. He appears in the comics, but in this game he uses a cork gun, and not an actual pistol like he is supposed to.
