I agree with Gomenasai. Con Mane is just a figment of Pinkie Pie’s imagination. Daring Do is an actual character that exists in a fictional medium in the pony world. It just doesn’t make much sense. Granted, I’m opposed to most pony shipping in general, but I’m still not really a fan of this idea.
Becoming weary of his Double-O status after mourning the loss of his newly-wedded wife to his eternal enemy: S.C.O.R.P.I.A. (Sabotage, CORruPtion, Intelligence and Assassination) in the events of “Oh Her Solar Majesty’s Secret Service” PonI5 Elite Operative Con Mane retires from the Secret Service and goes rogue to pursue his gritty vengence on the very Griffin who took his fiance’s life, Maxillian Diamondbeak, the director of the very renegade organization. Heading to the lands of the Dry East in pursuit of Maxillian, he uncovers a sinister plot of SCORPIA in which famed archaeologist Daring Do is unknowningly being targeted and used in her expedition for the Legendary Mystical Staff of Starswirl the Bearded that grants great power to it’s holder. Knowing that Maximillian is the one behind the plans of global castastophe, Con Mane becomes her unwanted bodyguard and it isn’t to long til the two start bickering, fight for their lives, gradually getting close as they work together in the mission and eventually uncovering their feelings for each other to make love in the end when all is said and done. However, as Con Mane is forced to be under PonI5 supervision in the sequel, he wonders deepily if he is actually able to pursue a relationship with Daring considering his past…
With some tweaking, the Con Mane character could be in the same league as Daring Do. After all, who says Pinkie wasen’t referencing ponfied popular works in Equestria as a base for her arguements while accusing the fellow chefs in “MMMystery On The Frienship Express”? ;)
Not sure if want. As cool as this would be, Con Mane is just Donut Joe cosplaying Bond. The colors and cutie mark are still Joe’s, while Daring is an entirely original character. Daring has actual books about her, Con is merely a brief product of imagination. They’re not in the same leagues.
Daring Doo travels to the city to dig up some new info on another artifact. Meanwhile Con Mane is sent by PonI5(MI5) to investigate the “archaeologist”. He follows her around, she leaves to some desert island, he follows, she catches him, they fight, he gets stranded there with her, they work together to find the artifact and leave, they become friends (no shipping, at least not yet), she leaves the island with the boat they made, PonI5 picks up a disheveled Con Mane and his report is blank because “He got on the wrong plane”. I.E. he didn’t want to tattle on his new friend.
An international superspy with an adventurous archeologist? With all ideas and stories sprawling from the what we have here it does sound like your typical Bondian epic!
I THE MIGHTY JOE DEMAND THIS.
I love it! Throw in some really depressing and self abusive parts and you got story of healing and discovery coupled with some action!
Even better:

Just some fragments here and there.

And I could totally see them meeting like this
Just think of the adventures that would be had.
My goodness.
