Regarding Mandopony, I think it was just a lucky/ironic guess on /mlp/’s part.
 
As for rich pedos, I think it’s more a case of it being easier to get away with if you’re rich and/or famous and/or powerful. Remember that it took forever to take down both Epstein and Weinstein.

I think I saw that, he actually said that to somebody who was trolling either himself, or Sibsy, I think. (I can’t remember, as I can’t find said comment anymore.) So to try to demonize Mando over saying that is ridiculous… Other people in the fandom have said worse, especially about HIM!
 
Also, after things cooled down after awhile, he also actually said he doesn’t hate all of /mlp/ over what a few jerks have said about him. (After a /mlp/ user apologized.) That doesn’t really make him seem like an “A-hole” to me… So there’s really no reason for /mlp/ users to continue to hold a grudge against him.
 
Mando’s not a saint, and neither are any of us honestly.

If it was one of those idiots spreading the “Mandopedo” libel, then I’d say telling them to “go crawl back into their hole” is showing remarkable restraint.
 
The copyright claim was a bad move in more ways than one, but if that’s the worst he’s done, I can’t really see calling someone an “asshole” over that. I tried to search for information, but searching for “Mandopony Sherclop Pones” and “Mandopony Friendship Is Witchcraft” doesn’t bring up anything relevant that I can see.

Then there’s the fact he filed a copyright claim against Sherclop Ponies (People who do FiW) for doing a parody of his song or something. Said he removed it because they didn’t ask him. Which is funny when you think about since I doubt he has Hasbro’s OK to do covers of the MLP songs.

 
I never followed the “Mando pedo” bullshit because thats exactly what it is! A bullshit rumour some idiots started because they just wanted some drama and didn’t give a flying fuck who got hurt because of it, and then it esculated to ^THAT! This behaviour is just inexcusable, I don’t care if they say it was just a joke, because if it was it would not have come to this point, it should have died off quickly and not become a massive shit storm between /MLP/, Mando and everyone else involved!

Yeah, that’s all going to far there… (Like the one saying Mando should be arrested, and such…) If it was just one person saying it, it’d be no big deal, but it’s tons of morons, and went on for a long time. Mando even stated he tried to be silent about it for a long time, but eventually it got to much to ignore.
 
I think all the people saying “Mando should take a joke,” (a joke that was never funny, as I said it could ruin his life, and it’s nothing more then “character-assassination”) would’ve acted WAY worse then he did if the shoe were on the other foot…
 
The fact people even trolled Michelle Creber herself about it, really sickens me…

And a useful footnote for those who claim “but it was just a joke thread with a couple of replies that was ignored by the rest of /mlp/ until Mando attacked poor little us /mlp/”: a selection of /mlp/ ‘Mandopedo’ comments made before Mandopony’s infamous tweet (As a side note, while the majority of those comments are sick jokes, there’s more than enough taking the accusation at face value.)

I think this is the most epic rebuttal to the whole “Mandopedo” trolling thing. Which I always thought was hugely disrespectful to not only Mando, but Michelle Creber, and the Creber family, as well… (I heard they were getting trolled about it to… Ugh…) I don’t know why anyone would find that funny.  
Plus, people shouldn’t even joke about that… Being labeled a “pedo” could make it hard for somebody to get jobs, and screw up their IRL lives.
 
Some even hassled Sibsy when she stood up for Mando, I recall…

“Crown Jewels”? She realizes the role that 4chan’s /co/ had in growing the fandom in the early days, and says that she finds good critiques on /mlp/ (though she has to dig through boatloads of crap to find them); I wouldn’t go so far as to say she thinks that highly of it.

I knew /mlp/ was one of the worst places in the fandom, but good God.

Never really followed the whole “le mandopedo XD” thing so closely, but this sounds about par for the course for 4chan. In all honestly, it’s probably unfair to blame 4chan as a whole, or even /mlp/, since the whole thing was probably spearheaded mostly by /b/tards. Buncha edgy 14-year-olds who think harassing people through the Internet under the guise of anonymity and massive numbers makes them tough, even though it really just makes them a hundred times bigger pussies than the average schoolyard bully and a thousand times as pathetic.

Well, there was at least one anon in the source thread taking /mlp/ to task for their treatment of Mandopony, and a few others smacking down obvious idiocy. It’s a shame that it’s the idiots, bullies, and jealous hipsters that drive so much of the discussion there.
