Ardashir
My Little Pony - 1992 Edition

Sweeney Todd in Equestria? I wonder if he’s making the same ‘meat pie specials’ as in the original story?

And wow but he seems like an awfully dark character for the ponies to be writing about.

Non-Fungible Trixie -

So Apple Jack, Fluttershy, Spike, the citizens of Ponyville, and fictional good guys, against Maleficent, Voldemort, Loki, and other fictional villains?

Starlight Storm

@F
More like he took a little bit of existant mithology, created something of his own, mixed all that together in a world directly taken from his imagination, and published it.

Stealing could be ripping off completely Twilight and changing some stuff and giving it a different name… OH WAIT, IT BECAME A BESTSELLING BOOK CALLED 50 SHADES OF GREY!?

There is a difference between stealing and influences.

For example:

The Avatar series was heavily influenced by many different cultures

Fire Nation: Japan
Air Nomads: Tibetans
Water Tribe: Eskimos
Earth Kingdom: Chinese/Mongolians
Sun Warriors: Aztecs
Swampbenders: Bayou people
Guru Vathik: Indian gurus

Hell, in Legend of Korra, Republic City was inspired by 1920’s Hong Kong.

J.R.R. Tolkien was heavily influenced by Scandinavian/Norwegian mythology, Christianity, the Arthurian Legends, Finnish mythology, Celtic mythology, Jules Verne and even Shakespeare.

Everything has an influence. All of our stories are influenced by mythology, the Bible or folktales.

@F
HOW WAS J.R.R. TOLKIEN EVEN STEALING IN THE FIRST PLACE!? WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU THINK THAT!?

@F
How could he steal from something that didn’t have a copyright? Everything is influenced by something else.

Pacific Rim: Godzilla, mecha anime, Ultraman etc
Star Wars: Western films, space operas, Wizard of Oz, Akira Kurosawa etc
Lord of the Rings: Norse/Scandinavian mythology.

@F
He was inspired by Norse Mythology. Just like Narnia was inspired by the Bible and how George Lucas was inspired by The Hidden Fortress and Akira Kurosawa when he made Star Wars.

…mythology is not made by humans?
LOTF? LOFT?
Are you talking about LOTR?
Because Tolkien stole pretty much everything from already existing mythology when he made his books.
