The thought had occurred to me as well. They’ll probably tie it in somehow. I suspect that if one skips watching Rainbow Rocks entirely, one won’t miss a thing. There will likely be no mention of the human world in MLP:FIM.

Not sure if facetious. TV and Movie studios have a pretty strict “no unsolicited stories” policy. I really don’t think DHX or Hasbro really pays as much attention to this fandom as some people seem to think they do.
 
Also, it takes over a year from an initial script until the finished product. Once a script is “locked”, no further changes can be made to it, and then it goes to be recorded. After VAs record, it goes to storyboards. Once storyboarding is done it goes to layout, and then from layout goes to animation. Then it gets scored and sound effects added.
 
If they’re planning for a summer release, it’s probably mostly finished by now. It’s a bit irrational and silly to blame some random fan for something that amounted to what may or may not be a good guess.
