I think people here just hate crossover ‘ships, (even though it actually is a trope in media) or just hate Sonic. I never see another fictional character get as much hate as Sonic does on this site. (Though, we have some Sonic fans here to, and some well-drawn Sonic pics manage to avoid getting downvoted to hell.)
 
Y’know, in the different Sonic canons, Sonic’s had “possible love-interests” who aren’t hedgehogs before. (Like Princess Sally Acorn, Mina Mongoose, Fiona Fox, some random females from AoStH, and to a lesser extent… Princess Elise, a human… Creeeeepy!) So I don’t think it’s the species thing.
 
I don’t feel one way, or the other about SonicXDashie personally, but I kinda prefer fanartists draw her at least as anthro-looking as Sonic whenever they do that. It just looks weird seeing Sonic smooch a quadruped pony. Looks like he’s making out with his pet.
 
One I did like was one of Sonic & Dashie in their official human forms, (yes Sonic has one to, I was surprised to discover that to) and before you all flip out, even the artist who drew it said they aren’t into the pairing, but just drew it for fun.  
I’d hate to see all the drama that would surface if said pic was uploaded here. (At least, I can admit I like a pic, even if I’m not into the ‘shipping. In fact, I’m probably one of the only bronies here who isn’t into ’shipping ponies, and such.)

It there any erason for hwy everybody gets worked up on Rainbow DashXSonic pics, aside from the fact that the latter part of the ship isn’t a pony (which is partially understandable, but not on this level)?
 
I mean, I don’t think it’s a matter of shipping wars, so what’s the deal?
