As far as I know they’ve never officially acknowledged it in any way, other than detailing in their patent applications for the iPhone 6 that technology was being included that would allow government or law enforcement agencies to remotely disable camera, microphone, data connection, and cell service on iOS devices.
Applejack probably would get bent out of shape if you tried to carry her around in your pocket, but I bet she doesn’t have firmware that lets the police remotely disable her camera and microphone.
