I don’t know why she’s crying, but I choked up a little as I worked on the coloring around the eyes. I hope she cheers up soon. The artist is longct18, and will take down the art if he/she complains about me vectoring the work.

Given that this is a vector of a trace of Andy’s work, shouldn’t HE be the one you credit? I dunno if it’s Longct18’s fault or yours, but better research shoulda been done here if you really wanted to credit the right author.
Believe me, I know. These days daring to suggest that Katie Cook is anything less than the actual devil is enough to get one beset by an almost literal angry mob.
Not saying I’m a hater, I’m just expecting some kind of response from “Reflection” haters after saying a positive thing about it.
I can see what you mean.
And the haters are gonna be on you in 3…2…
Yes, I’m sure that I liked that story. I know that I’m “supposed to” foam with rage over Reflections like everyone else because that’s the popular opinion that the internet starts screaming at you if you don’t agree with, but I genuinely love that story and it’s portrayal of Celestia.
Celestia in the show is boring. Let’s face it. She’s all-powerful, all-knowing, always kind and smart and wise and strong and she is never, ever wrong. Show Celestia is practically perfect in every way and hasn’t had a single iota of character development in 4 entire seasons.
Cook’s depiction of Celestia, and in Reflections in particular, feels more like a real character than the show version ever has. She shows she has real emotions and needs and desires. She shows she’s not infallible, and that she’s capable of making big, selfish decisions like anyone else could. And it also shows that she does harbor the regret that accompanies those decisions. It’s masterfully done, and leaps and bounds more interesting than her perfectly flat TV counterpart.
Are you sure reflections was great? There was a picture a little while ago that had drama about that arc and how it “Ruined Celestia”…
I know what you mean.
ah!
thanks for the info
Man, Reflections was so great. Celestia displays more emotion in this one panel than she has in four entire seasons of the show.
