She invited Discord to liven things up, despite being soaked in Smooze slime and being unable to use her Alicorn magic to restore order for a short while, and she ends up being in an even happier mood at the end of the episode, despite her worry and anger when she is unable to stop the Smooze and trying to protect the other guests from it until Discord intervened.

She did giggle at one of his wisecracks while trying to get Fluttershy to feel guilty over not taking him to the Gala instead of Tree Hugger. And she did not mind the chaos caused by the Smooze afterwards, even though it did discomfort her with blocking her from using her magic by covering the tip of her horn with slime, then having to protect the other guests, after being cleaned off thanks to Tree Hugger calming Smooze down, as the Smooze advanced on her with the rest of the Mane Six trapped inside of him before Discord intervened and returned the Smooze to normal.

I love it because it shows that she has forgiven Discord and truly sees him as a friend that could give her a good time with his antics.

This is the second time we see Celestia wearing something other than her tiara, horseshoes, and collar since her crown and coronation attire back in Magical Mystery Cure.
 
Glad to see the writers being a little more varied with her now, even if it was her first appearance in Season 5.
 
I almost thought that she would be attending the Gala like back in The Best Night Ever in her regular appearance. Not to mention how giddy she sounded at the end with how, despite what happened with being soaked in slime by the Smooze and the chaos it caused, she still was having a wonderful time. That’s the Solar Sovereign for you now that she and Discord are on much friendlier terms now.
