That said, it should also be noted that it’s probably not reasonable to get mad at people for not shipping the way you do, either.

I just hope Derpiboo.ru has some kind of filtering system that spoilers or hides the comments of people who a user simply cannot agree with. That would have prevented 90% of the bickering, and would solve the “you should only comment on something if you like it” vs. “I have freedom to decide what to say and what to filter” problem.
 
Any two things can be shipped for no other reason than personal preference, so asking shippings to be “reasonable” is not reasonable itself.
 
P.S. It is probably well known that Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. just LOVE each other. Honestly, I ship them.

Most Soarin’ fanfics I read tend to capture the goofball part, but the mare’s stallion part also tends to go along with it.

I think the problem is that most people don’t write Soarin comparible to his canon self. They tend to forget he’s more of a goofball and portray him as a lady’s guy, uptight, or more serious than he’s been shown.

Flashdash is one of those “huh, that’s actually not too bad an idea” ships that I can think of, scenarios for, and how it might work out, but I don’t legit ship it. I’ve read every Soarlight fix in existence (all two of them!), and while I enjoyed them, I don’t view them as particularly compatible.
