Sometimes I also play with the idea that Pinkie Pie and Octavia are siblings/step sisters I can’t help but I like this idea better Maud Pie.

One of those is NOT like the others. Apple Bloom is being raised by her sibs and Granny, parents are never present even in episodes about the extended family, the couple seen in a photo on their wall never appears in the present day… do the math. Lyrabon ship teasing is the writers’ favorite running gag of late. It’s stated outright that Scootaloo may be flightless for the rest of her life. But the idea of Pinkie being adopted comes from where?
 
Is it just because her color scheme is different than the others? More family members than not have non-matching color schemes, to the point that it’s a surprise when they do (Spitfire’s apparently a clone, ‘cause she looks so much like her mom there’s no way a second pony’s DNA is in there.) That’s just speculation, might make a good fanfic. But those other things are right in our faces.

Well I think there are some other hints in the show without it would be 100% offical and clear.
 
Lyra and Bon Bon’s relation ship is one of them while the others for me are:  
-the Apple siblings are orphans so that’s why they lives with their granny  
-Pinkie Pie was adopted to the Rock family  
-Scootaloo might be flightless for the rest of her life
 
 
I just don’t understand why being orphan became such a taboo since the MLP Tales. I mean Patch was orphan as a baby and adopted to a lovely family and she was OK with that and she didn’t mind that her friends know that too.
