For me, the ‘love interest’ thing has brushed off. What I am more interested is his character as an individual instead. Sure, him having a romantic feeling (well, his human counterpart) with Twilight was what got me interested and likeable in the character in the first place (because I find love to be a very high and important value in my personal life, call me Asian). Now, this hate has motivated me to focus upon any of his characteristics as his own self, if he’s a soldier, then his characteristics will be expanded onto him being a soldier. His cameos involve him doing his job, escorting Princesses, or announcing the arrivals of official parties like I’ve said before.
 
I’m not trying to change you, hell no. But this is my answer on why I like him. Just as you stated yours, I’ve stated mine.

Why do you care so much for whom Twi has fallen for? Love is blind and maybe they had more interaction between them then what has been shown on screen?  
Maybe she finds his looks and attitude cute? Isn’t that enough to start liking someone?
 
Also, I can’t believe personal emotions like jelousness can lead people to hating fictional characters over other fictional characters. This is just childish at best.
 
I’ll tell you what, maybe Flash is already dating Twi or even got her laid… But we will never see it or know why exactly their relationship works because it’s not the focus of the show! They can’t really show stuff like that to young audience and too many bronies will become butthurt and start hating over someone stealing their waifu or proving that Mane6 are straight >_>

well thats on you man, usually in series, there’s some I don’t like, but when it comes to MLP, I do love everyone, if they have reasons to be hated like Tiara, then I still like em. Flash didnt do anything wrong, and I mean pony Flash, his design is great, and he looks cute and innocent, I dont mind that he might be with Twi, sounds like an interesting idea, really hope they can use it well, but I doubt it, closest the show had with a male lead role was the 100th episode with the Doc getting a load of screentime, so yeah, males wont get too much story, Big Mac does, but little dialogue, Soarin is second banana wonderbolt, Brae said a few lines, then disappeared for a few seasons, Shining, well, its a list full, and Sombra, same, huge list. Discord and Spike are the only ones I can think of to have great character and even have episodes. Probably the only way Flash will get a bigger role is to demand it, still, better character or not, these artworks are still very adorable, and I love the cute stories the fans give these two, so Im happy uvu

I give up. Apparently, there are more people that like Flash than those who don’t that are willing to voice their reasoning. You asked why people hate Flash and I gave my answer. Why others don’t like him, I can not say. I do not like Flash Sentry and I will continue to not like him, until I am shown WHY he should be a LOVE INTEREST to a MAIN character.

Awesome man, usually what I do is not reply to hate comments towards Flash, pretty much only hate art, asking why he’s being called a jerk, a douche, beaten, or tortured to death, anything like that, and discuss why the dude hates him, explain to him that stuff. I did that a few times, through it, I got some supporters, and in the end, the dude just stopped replying. Its up to you, me, Im probably gonna start drawing Flash and my OC together as best friends, Flash being a victim of hatred,

Don’t worry, I also feel this way. Even if he doesn’t have much character development, Flash has done nothing to deserve that.

Yo thanks man, happy to see someone that understands, man I see so much hate towards him, people want him beaten up or dead, I even see hate comments like that in normal cute art like this, its so bad, I honestly feel bad for poor Flash, I hope that isnt weird of me saying that to a fictional character XDD

I wonder if you hate all background ponies too. They are there only for the purpose of creating a mob effect. They don’t have any real personalities or traits apart from a scant few cliche interactions they had and tons upon tons of fanfics. So how does Flash differ from any of them?

aaaaaand you all hate him that much because of that? I really dont mind, its a show for little girls after all, they gave us a Shining Armor similar to Flash, using generic big brother things, plus made him this weak ass stallion that gets rescued by his little sister all the time, I dint see him getting hate, same with any other ponies that have no story. I love Flash, he has a cute design, there’s really no need for this hate towards him, I always remember, being a brony is to love and show friendship, not wish death upon characters

Why do I hate Flash Sentry?
 
He seems to be created for the sole purpose of being a love interest for the human Twilight in the human world. Nothing has been done with Flash in the show at all. Have they even said the name Flash Sentry officially? If something was actually done with Flash to flesh out his character, I might like him.

good lord, even comments to a Flash fan that draws him, poor Flash still gets hate. Flash haters are honestly one of the worst people in the fandom hating a pony character for no reason.

It’s painful and quite unfair that the writers put the royal guards in a state of helplessness and incompetence. It feels like an insult to people who’d been in the military or cadet unit, like me.
