Nah, sorry to disappoint, but I don’t take those anymore. I used to, but as time goes on I have less and less of free time, plus I still have some steady projects I keep working on so I have my hands full of work as it is.

Do you take commissions?
I don’t like her character due to her “redemption” in season 6, mostly due to how it was executed.
I talked about it at length multiple times in the past. To be honest I don’t think like touching that subject for the n-th time.
Why do you dislike post-season 6 Trixie?
While true, that doesn’t mean she actually expected to be fighting. Sugar Bell’s resistance caught Luna by surprise. Who would fight back if confronted by an angry alicorn?
Want to see me doing something malice-fueled? Look up any of my comics that feature Trixie ever since season 6 - or
don’t, for your own sake. ;)
that said, there are no hallowed topics in fandom and every character has their fare share of that kind of stuff if you search long and hard enough. Sometimes, just for your own sake, it’s better to loosen up at least a little bit rather than fighting them windmills. ;)

@CommanderX
This is exactly how I feel about Shining Armor.

Alicorns have super strength. We saw this in Luna Eclipsed when Luna stomped cement and put cracks into it. If she has super strength and can’t beat a normal civilian, that’s pretty bad, especially since alicorns are all 3 races (meaning that Luna has earth pony in her), and Sugar Belle us a unicorn. The only thing that even slightly dulls it is Luna was a jerk and had it coming.

Honestly, I don’t think SMP did it to make Luna herself look bad. In the old version of this comic, the ending was ambigious. Luna confronted Sugar, and that was the end. He worried that it implied he favored Lunamac over Sugarmac, so we have this new ending in which Sugar actually clocked Luna.
You say she was armed and armored, but the problem there is she’s wearing heavy armor and wielding a mace (not using magic to attack, notably) against an opponent who is barehoofed and unencumbered. All Sugar had to do was dodge the mace and land a couple punches until Luna agreed to stop swinging the mace around.
Think of the alternatives in this case. Say Sugar loses, and gets bludgeoned by Luna. Was Luna the victor there? No, she was a bully. Same if Sugar had fled. No one cheers Goliath when he wins. It’s expected. But when David wins, that’s another story.
Besides. As I mentioned before, this is not the end. Neither of these two ponies are dead, so a rematch is practically required.
Considering that she was levitating very heavy weapon, she certainly used magic, not to mention she was armed and armored while her opponent had absolutly nothing. Even if the joke is about Luna being too overconfident, it still don’t change the fact that it is just yet another comic where the princess had her flank kicked. (This time against smaller and weaker opponent).
Long story short, I understand the intent autor had for this comic, but the result is no different than what lots of other artists and fanfic writters did already. It just annoys me rather than make me laugh.
I should also mention, smp is working on a second comic for this. He mentioned it on DeviantArt in the comments.
She certainly was overconfident cuz as an Alicorn she could just use her magic to best Sugar Belle, but she tried the Earth pony way, most likely to further impress Big Mac, an Earth stallion.
You misread the intent. Luna took a black eye for being overconfident that she could easily best an opponent with unknown skills. That doesn’t make her weak, it makes her a silly pony.
Sorry if I ruined your fun, but this is just how I feel. Whenever I see princesses used in such a manner, instead of laughing at the funny or cute joke, I am just reminded that outside of the show, even fanfic writters and comic artists never bother to show princesses as anything but useless.
Alicorns have terible reputation as it is.

I figure it’s a bit like DBZ. The hair flows when Luna is expressing her full power. That’s the ‘public’ form. But they can suppress it in private, mostly because long flowy locks can be inconvenient at times.
Case in point. Thank you for your demonstration. Thing is, it would have been more impressive if she was clearly less powerful than Twilight and was simply very very good at plotting her revenge. We didn’t need Glimmer to be Vegeta to Twilight’s Goku. And she isn’t, really. Glimmer has zero hangups about her own strength. It’s us that argue over it.
Very true. It’s impressive for a mere unicorn to be able to be about an equal match for an Alicorn. Maybe even more than an equal match. She’s certainly an enemy you don’t want.
Well, Starlight fans tend to want her to be Twilight’s better. Frankly even being able to stand on the same footing is impressive, because Twilight has a long list of accomplishments. I’m personally just kinda meh with regards to her these days. She seems to have more or less figured her shit out to where she’s no longer a danger, has made some solid friends, and can be considered a solid ally for good.
Because by the end of the day Twilight is show’s embodiment of the idea of friendship, and by that it shows that a group and reasoning can achieve more than a solitary unit.
@Background Pony #6C3E
That’s totally true. It’s really funny how people consider season 5’a finale as Starlight winning/being more powerful when in fact they kept each other in impasse. Even when the two fought directly in short duel it was still a draw until they got tired out. Impressive? Yes, but still it can’t be counted as victory over Twilight.
Edited
Yes. But, not by herself. She alqays needed somepony besides herself for the victory to be achieved.
Fine points, but I wanted to address these two:
Twilight had her own power, and the power of love, the moon, and the sun. Tirek had an entire nation’s magic and Discord’s. That should have ensured him a victory. Instead, Twilight fought him to a standstill only broken when Tirek brought out his hostages.
In both of those instances, a standstill is a victory, and she was later able to defeat both with friendship in one way or another. Hell, even in the movie the final moment was decided because Tempest was finally convinced to throw in with her own kind and give friendship a chance.
To be frank… Twilight has been the most successful of the alicorns.
True. Doesnt disregard the fact Celestia could become Daybreaker. She is just like Luna. And, Twilight. And, Sunset.
All three of them have evil sides that are just insanely powerful.
I do believe it to not be THAT much of a stretch for Celly to be Daybreaker under different circumstances.
Daybreaker is a nightmare of Starlight’s, not a fear of Celestia’s.
To be fair, it just depends on what the show wants.
Luna can create forces that can destroy the world, i.e. Tantabus. Herself can be included in as well. I mean, when she ruled as N.M. in that alternate timeline, nopony tried defeating her. Twilight didnt shoot at her. Even when she got Spike. None of the Mane Six did anything aside join her army. Why? Lulu defeated Celly, who they all pretty much call a Goddess. Luna also lost to her own creation in the realm of dreams…her domain. Got shot out of the sky.
Celestia is just the same way. Could become Daybreaker. Fire would be everywhere. She MADE Twilight and Cadence both Alicorns! She may not actually fight, but she sure does indirectly do it. Directly if you wanna think on how far she plans stuff.
She got captured. Yes. She got beaten unconscious by Chrysalis. Yes.
But…Twilight got beaten by the Changelings. Also, got captured. And, turned to stone by a creature. In the forest. In her hometown. Went insane, caused chaos in her town, then everything got fixed by…Celestia. Got captured by a comic book character with her five friends. Got beaten SO HARD by Starlight Glimmer that the only reason she even won is because she talked Starlight out of the fight. Oh, also couldnt defeat Tirek with literally the power of the Sun and Moon on her side.
Cadence got captured. Beaten by a giant worm…as did Twilight. Captured again.
The other three Alicorns were also turned to stone.
Pretty much, they all suck at combat.
Can we just be real? Please?
Every last one of them, on their own, would not last long as a combatant.
Yes, they all have their moments to shine, but the only reason most think that Celly, Lulu, and Candy are not capable of fighting off anything is because the three of them agree on this:
“Why do we have to fight? We have a superweapon capable of defeating literally ANYTHING that could hurt our rule! All it needs is six morons to power it!”
Note this, Twilight, JUST TWILIGHT, never EVER solved anypony’s problems…on her own. She LITERALLY RAN away from Tempest, essentially a disabled Unicorn, FOR DAYS. Why? Because she couldn’t defeat her! Without their magical laser beam, her and her friends are as effective as throwing Derpy at the enemy.
It simply comes down to this.
Nopony is a winner at all times. They are weak one second, OP the next. It truly seems to come down to these factors:
Celly KNOWS somepony, somewhere will save Equestria. Save her as well, too.
Think about it.
Before her time as ruler, there was Starswirl. So, Equestria has ALWAYS had heroes.
Currently? It’s Twilight and her friends.
Twilight and her friends missing? Eh. Somepony will get them out of the tight spot.
And, I have to say that saying Celly and Luna aren’t strong just because of a few moments is kinda not honest to the show.
Who defeated Discord first? Who defeated Sombra first? Who defeated Tirek first?
I’d like to think that literally hundreds of years of fighting would make somepony finally say, “Screw it. I need some help.”
Bam. Mane Six.
And, the cycle of needing help continues with them. So on and so forth.
So, in conclusion, they are all very powerful. All very weak. Just depends on if there is somepony else to throw the slack on to if they arent feeling it that day. Otherwise? They go off, and do it themselves.
