You know, I’m not looking forward to The Mane Thing About You. It sounds like it’ll be a Rarity torture porn. Again, this seems like another example of the mane six not being treated as they should this late in the show. Why do we need episodes that just blatantly torture them, like last season’s Newbie Dash?

I’ve always thought there’s a reason why Sunburst is held up in the Crystal Empire and its kind of the same reason Flash Sentry is there too. Both these characters have “potential love interests” in the form of Starlight and Twilight so you keep them there to avoid “canonizing” anything while still keeping the possibility open. There’s a reason the Princess of Love rules that Empire.
The only way we’ll ever see an episode with Starlight and Sunburst together is if there’s still any conflict left between them. Sunburst keeps Starlight from using her magic impulsively while Starlight gives Sunburst self confidence because they look up to each other. You can’t have a story about characters with no short comings. Plus their combined talents make them a walking deus ex machina.
However… Wouldn’t it be interesting if there was a story where Chrysalis revenge involves kidnapping Sunburst and impersonating his form to trick Starlight into destroying her own life and everything she’s done to reform herself? Just a thought.
Well, I for one am mostly excited for… most of these episodes. I do have misgivings about the Changeling one though, despite not having had a problem with the new Changelings previously.But this pretty much confirms that unless they shove it into the finale or save it for season 8, we’re still not getting any Starburst canonization.

Once Upon a Zeppelin looks like an episode where we finally get some development for Twilight’s parents AFTER 6 FREAKING SEASONS! Nice to see Twi is still iffy about high society stuff.

I suppose that after an entire episode of cringe humor at Rarity’s baldness predicament, Zecora will solve the issue with another potion that will give Rarity the most fabulous mane ever, just in time for her photo shoot session.
