Well she’s the only part of that plotline that really needs tying up. Everything else seems pretty fine for them, they have their own wacky holidays and everything.

It’s like they’ve either forgotten about her… Or are, more likely considering The Mean 6, completely blinded to her actions by the powers of Emperor- Er I mean, Chancellor Neighsay.
 
Either way, having Chrysalis not only get redeemed but also the possibility of an actual intriguing backstory as to what caused her to become evil would be awesome.

I like to think she was the mare mentioned in the episode with the love potion (must resist urge to reference the song…) and that Sombra was the stallion.

I’ve mentioned this before, but my headcanon is that long ago, the Changelings were cursed to be forever starving for love until they learned how to share love without just taking, and their “new” forms are simply their original, uncursed forms.

People complain about the direction of the series a bit too much. It is a shame that there is wasted potential for characters and settings, but you guys are making it sound like a huge deal for nothing. I think the show is fine the way it is and whatever holes the show leaves is up for the fans to fill in.

I must admit, I am bemused by the notion that we have to tie up Mrs Cake’s story arc before the show finishes.
 
Frankly, even the mane cast could pretty much end up right as they are. Rarity, Fluttershy, Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash have explicitly fulfilled their dreams and pretty much tied up their character arcs. Starlight might have a few loose ends, but she’s pretty settled as she is as well.
 
All that would really be required for a satisfying ending at this point is to all band together to face some big scary dude, planting a giant boot in Chrysalis’s ass as they go. Then the mane six become princesses, all the races hug it out, Twilight gives a godawful speech about caring and magic and friendship, end credits.

You forgot the part where the final shot is the book from the series premiere closing and revealing that a grown-up Spike was telling the story to a bunch of foals.

I mean, I’m not saying that the mane 6 are “done” character wise, I still believe that you can get some interesting stories out of them. But when it comes to arcs and all that grand stuff, I don’t see much in them.

That works. And Twilight’s final voice over pretty much has to include a montage of big moments from the show.
 
You know, this is why I’m somewhat eager for the show to end and move on. It’s… done everything. The characters are happy. It makes it a little harder to be invested in them.

Good news is, not everything that ends is forgotten.

I just want them to rip-off Half Life 2’s introduction and Twilight gets sent by Hasbro some higher-dimensional entity to G5, because Twilight was about to destroy the G4 universe. “The right mare in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world…”
